Junior Market slips on Thursday

Rising stocks price were equal to declining stocks at the close of trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with the market slipping for a second consecutive day and resulted in the Market Index falling 8.55 points to settle at 2,533.26.
Trading ended with 32 securities changing hands compared to 34 on Wednesday and concluded with the prices of 11 stocks rising, 11 declining and 10 remaining unchanged. At the close, the average PE Ratio ended at 12.7 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with 17 percent more shares trading than on Wednesday after 3,353,944 shares changed hands for  $7,247,408, 21 percent higher than the $5,973,152 allowing for the trading of 2,855,958 units on Wednesday. Jetcon Corporation led trading with 38.9 percent of total volume with 1.31 million shares, followed by Tropical Battery with 17.5 percent of the day’s trade with a transfer of 588,526 units and Mailpac Group with 13.3 percent market share or 446,042 units.
Trading ended with an average of 104,811 units at $226,481 in contrast to 83,999 at $175,677 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 202,892 units at $564,142, compared to 210,208 units at $589,328 on Wednesday. October averaged 230,868 units at $535,509 for each traded security.

At the close of the market, Access Financial gained 10 cents to end at $22 with an exchange of 2,998 shares, AMG Packaging lost 6 cents to finish at $1.54 with the trading of 21,524 units, Blue Power fell 16 cents to $3.30 and swpped 504 shares. Caribbean Assurance Brokers rose 4 cents to close at $1.85 with investors switching ownership of 1,000 stocks, Caribbean Flavours gained 10 cents to end at $1.81 with 59,500 units changing hands, Caribbean Producers slipped 2 cents and exchanged 4,500 shares to finish at $2.34. Elite Diagnostic declined 1 cent to $3.10 with 15,000 stocks passing through the market, Everything Fresh increased by 3 cents to 73 cents trading 22,181 shares, Express Catering rose 2 cents to $3.76  with a transfer of 450 units. Fontana advanced 10 cents to finish at $5.30 with 65,496 stocks changing hands, Fosrich gained 6 cents to settle at $3.99 with an exchange of 17,225 units, Indies Pharma climbed 15 cents to close at $2.75 with 7,016 shares passing through the market. Jamaican Teas lost 20 cents to end at $6.15 with 275,731 units traded, Knutsford Express shed 67 cents to finish at $6.03 with investors switching ownership of 17,304 stocks, Lasco Distributors fell 14 cents to $3.15 with 5,000 units changing hands. Lasco Manufacturing lost 2 cents and traded 47,576 shares to close at $3.79, Limners and Bards advanced 11 cents to $2.59 with a transfer of 17,900 stocks, Lumber Depot gained 8 cents to finish at $1.25 with 4,477 shares changing hands. Mailpac Group exchanged 446,042 units and slipped 1 cent to settle at $2.17, Main Event jumped 50 cents to close at $3.49 with a mere 331 shares passing through the market and Medical Disposables lost 10 cents to end at $4.40 with 1,316 stocks crossing the exchange.
In the preference segment, CAC 2000 9.5% fell 15 cents to settle at 99 cents with 24,902 units changing hands.

Prices highly mixed on Junior market

Prices movements were even when the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Wednesday, but the market index slipped moderately after trading 57 percent fewer shares worth 55 percent less than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands compared to 28 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 11 stocks rising  11 declining and 12 remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index shed 12.67 points to settle at 2,524.43. The PE Ratio averaged 11.3 based on ICInsider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,035,084 shares for $7,617,641  compared to 7,037,763 units at $16,944,311 on Tuesday. Limners and Bards led trading with 40.9 percent of total volume with 1.24 million shares, followed by Lasco Financial 12.6 percent with 383,345 units and Tropical Battery with 8.5 percent market share for 258,623 units.
Trading ended with an average of 89,267 units at $224,048 in contrast to 251,349 at $605,154 on Tuesday. The average trade for November to date is 177,369 units at $378,968, compared to224,173 units at $461,269 on Tuesday. Trading in October resulted in an average of 230,868 units at $535,509.

The prices of rising stocks just edged out declining ones in trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange at the close on Wednesday. The market decline, trading 74 percent fewer shares than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands compared to 38 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 13 stocks rising, 12 declining and nine remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index dived 29.71 points to settle at 2,428.25 and the PE Ratio averaged 10.6 based on the ICInsider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

Trading surged with investors chasing after 156 percent more shares worth 388 percent more than Monday’s levels on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday.
Trading concluded with 38 securities changing hands compared to 37 on Monday and ended with the prices of 11 stocks rising, 21 declining and six with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a loss of 3.87 points to settle at 2,457.96 and the PE Ratio averaged 10.9 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

Junior Market ekes a rise on Thursday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Thursday, with the market squeezing out a meager of 5.22 points in the market Index to settle at 2,449.13 as an equal number of stocks rose and fell after trading 40 percent more shares than on Wednesday.
Like Wednesday, trading ended with 35 securities changing hands on Thursday and concluded with 15 stocks rising, the prices of 15 declining and five with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the average PE Ratio ended at 10.3 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,929,572 shares for $9,632,353 compared to 3,515,236 units at $8,677,144 on Wednesday. Tropical Battery led trading with 23.1 percent of total volume, with 1.14 million shares, followed by AMG Packaging with 21.6 percent, with an exchange of 1.07 million units and Iron Rock Insurance with 14.4 percent and 708,211 shares.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with the market declining moderately after the prices of more stocks fell than those rising after 173 percent more shares traded than on Friday.
Trading ended with 36 securities changing hands compared to 30 on Friday and closed with the prices of 10 stocks rising, 16 declining and 10 remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index dropped 10.79 points to settle at 2,500.71. The average PE Ratio ended at 11.3 based on the ICInsider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

Junior Market slips a bit on Thursday

Trading remained fairly steady on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, with Market Index slipping a mere 2.01 points to 2,491.71 despite stocks than rising stocks outdid falling ones three to one after 46 percent fewer shares traded than on Wednesday.
Trading ended with 30 securities changing hands versus 32 on Wednesday and ended with the prices of 18 stocks rising, the prices of seven declining and five with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.7 based on the IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 2,441,975 shares for $5,915,805 compared to 4,500,883 units at $9,523,058 on Wednesday. Caribbean Flavour led trading with 36 percent of total volume for an exchange of 879,378 shares, followed by Tropical Battery with 15.4 percent of the day’s trade or 375,005 units and Jamaican Teas with 318,487 units for 13 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 81,399 units at $197,193 in contrast to 140,653 at $297,596 on Wednesday. The Junior Market suffered a second day of decline with the Index falling 25.69 points to settle at 2,476.80, after an exchange of 75 percent fewer shares than on Friday with the value of trading falling by 77 percent after Caribbean Flavours started trading after the ten to one stock split.

Market activity resulted in 122 percent more shares trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday than for Wednesday and ended, with the market rising after an even number of stocks rose and declined.
Trading ended with 33 securities changing hands compared to 35 on Wednesday and concluded with the prices of 13 stocks rising, the prices of 13 stocks declining and seven with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index advanced 4.29 points to settle at 2,504.27. The market’s average PE Ratio ended at 10.9 based on the IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 6,110,406 shares for $14,758,537  compared to 2,756,683 units at $10,338,812 on Wednesday. Tropical Battery led trading with 43.5 percent of total volume for an exchange of 2.66 million shares, followed by Fontana with 21.2 percent of the day’s trade or 1.29 million units for and Lumber Depot with 1.17 million units for 19.2 percent market share.
