Junior Market picks up on Tuesday

Caribbean Flavours, fresh from the ten to one stock split on Monday led trading on Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday as the price hit a new record high of $3 during the day, before settling slightly lower at the close.

Caribbean Flavours a Derrimon’s subsidiary

Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 33 on Monday and concluded with the prices of 11 stocks rising, 13 stocks declining and seven, with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of 14.36 points to settle at 2,491.16. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.4 based on the IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with investors expended $15,577,070  in chasing after  5,362,727 shares on Tuesday, 100 percent more than Monday’s 2,681,105 units at $8,677,248.
Caribbean Flavours led trading with 25.4 percent of total volume with an exchange of 1.36 million shares, followed by Mailpac Group with 24.3 percent of the day’s trade or 1.31 million units and  Fontana with 958,938 units for 17.9 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 172,991 units at $502,486 in contrast to 81,246 at $262,947 on
Monday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 373,067 units at $800,609, in comparison to 396,297 units at  $835,223 on Monday. Trading in September resulted in an average of 119,171 units at $249,355.

At the close of the market, Access Financial shed $3.03 to end at $19.05 with investors switching ownership of 51,357 stock shares, AMG Packaging gained 14 cents to finish at $2 with an exchange of 54,082 units, Blue Power dropped 15 cents to settle at $3.40, with 5,692 shares passing through the market. Caribbean Cream gained 8 cents to close at $4.73 with 20,000 stocks changing hands, Caribbean Flavours advanced 55 cents and traded 1,362,694 units to end at a record close of $2.93, Caribbean Producers lost 9 cents to settle at $2.21 with investors transferring 9,987 stocks. Consolidated Bakeries finished 1 cent higher at $1.48 with 117 stock units changing hands, Elite Diagnostic increased by 4 cents to close at $3.14 with 1,639 stocks passing through the market, Fontana rose 4 cents and exchanged 958,938 stock units to end at $4.99. Fosrich fell 24 cents to settle at $3.20 with investors switching ownership of 3,054 stock units, General Accident dropped 29 cents to finish at $6.40 with 5,490 shares traded, GWest Corporation shed 3 cents to close at 71 cents with 12,297 stock units passing through the market. Small Junior Market gain on Tuesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange index rose moderately at the close on Tuesday, despite more stocks falling than rising after investors traded 34 percent more shares than on Monday.
Trading ended with 36 securities changing hands compared to 32 on Monday and concluded with the prices of 11 stocks rising, the prices of 16  declining and nine with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of 9.27 points to settle at 2,533.75. The average PE Ratio ended at 10.9 based on the IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 8,538,074 shares for $11,671,236 compared to 6,359,921 units at $13,064,680 on Monday. GWest Corporation led trading with 55.2 percent of total volume with an exchange of 4.72 million shares, followed by Tropical Battery with 23.5 percent of the day’s trade or 2 million units and Mailpac Group with 417,939 units for 4.9 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 237,169 units at $324,201 in contrast to 198,748 at $408,271 on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade ended in an exchange of 639,080 units at $1,161,047, in comparison to 791,382 units at $1,478,168 on Monday. Junior Market heads higher on Friday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Friday, with the market rising even as more stocks fell than rose after investors traded 86 percent fewer shares than on Thursday.

Tropical Battery traded the most shares on Friday on the Junior Market.

Trading ended with 30 securities changing hands compared to 33 on Thursday and ended with nine stocks rising, the prices of 13 declining and eight with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index increased 34.26 points to settle at 2,567.42, the highest point since August 14. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 11 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 8,653,225 shares for $15,890,750 compared to 60,168,191 units at $111,470,486 on Thursday. Tropical Battery led trading with 62.8 percent of total volume with an exchange of 5.44 million shares d, followed by Mailpac Group with 19.7 percent of the day’s trade or 1.71 million units and Lumber Depot with 404,255 units for 4.7 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 288,441 units at $529,692 in contrast to 1,823,279 at $3,377,894 on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 1,092,403 units at  $2,021,607. Trading in September ended, with an average of 119,171  units at $249,355.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Friday, with the market declining after slightly more stocks rose than fell after 78 percent more shares traded than Thursday.
Trading resulted in the same number of securities on Thursday and Friday changing hands with 31 each day and closed with the prices of 13 stocks rising, 11 declining and seven remaining unchanged.

Trading ended with an average of 100,571 units at $150,653 compared to 56,456 at $199,475 on  Thursday. Jamaican Teas dropped 54 cents to $4.06, after clearing the market with  42,687 shares, Jetcon Corporation gained 4 cents to finish at 84 cents, in transferring 605,400 stocks, KLE Group gained 6 cents to end at $1.42, after trading 5,000 units. Knutsford Express lost 10 cents to close at $6.80, with 4,308 units crossing the market, Lasco Financial shed 1 cent to close at $2.13, in trading 67,204 shares, Lasco Manufacturing gained 19 cents and ended at $3.79,  with an exchange of 34,639 shares. Limners and Bards carved out a gain of 3 cents after ending at  $2.73 and a transfer of  30,260 stock units, MailPac Group lost 1 cent to end at $1.99 with investors swapping 50,600 shares. Medical Disposables rose 22 cents to finish at $4.89  trading 7,305 stocks and Stationery and Office Supplies gained 5 cents to settle at $5.65 with investors swapping 9,846 units.

Junior Market slide continues on Tuesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with the market declining as more stocks fell than rose after nine percent more shares traded than on Monday.
Trading ended with 29 securities changing hands compared to 33   on Monday and ended with the prices of eight stocks rising, the prices of 12  declining and nine with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index declined by 35.17 points to settle at 2,445.75. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.1 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 2,668,027 shares for $10,621,549 compared to 2,428,264  units at $7,011,769 on Monday.
Caribbean Cream led trading with 1 million shares for 37.5 percent of total volume, followed by  Lasco Distributors with 315,000 units for 11.8 percent of the day’s trade and Lumber Depot with 184,359 units for 6.9 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 92,001 units at $366,260 in contrast to 73,584 at $212,478  on Monday. Trading in August resulted in an average of 104,426 units at $321,996 trading.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the market shows two stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
At the close of the market, Access Financial dropped $5.29 to end at $20.81 with 17,980 stocks changing hands, AMG Packaging fell 2 cents to $1.71 in an exchange of 1,600 units, Blue Power advanced 12 cents to finish at $3.32 with 100 shares traded. Caribbean Assurance Brokers lost 8 cents to close at $2 with investors switching ownership of 31,500 shares, Caribbean Cream exchanged 1,000,010 stock units, with the price rising 60 cents to settle at $4.50,  Caribbean Flavours added 9 cents to end at $17.59 with 73,216 shares traded. Caribbean Producers slipped 4 cents to $2.40 with 168,346 stocks changing hands, Derrimon Trading fell 43 cents to finish at $2.30 with investors switching ownership of 22,345 units, Everything Fresh declined by 3 cents to close at 67 cents in an exchange of 100 stock units. Express Catering climbed 48 cents to settle at $3.94 with  115,504 stocks changing hands, Fosrich gained  20 cents and traded 100,750 stock units to close at $4, General Accident lost 3 cents to settle at $6.07 with investors transferring ownership of 15,589  stocks. Honey Bun gained 20 cents to finish at $5.10 with an exchange of 42,823 stock units, ISP Finance shed $2.59 to close at $12  with 841 shares traded, Jamaican Teas declined 10 cents to end at $4.60 with 34,457 units changing hands. Lasco Distributors fell 1 cent to $3 with investors switching ownership of 315,000 stocks,  Lasco Financial slipped 1 cent to close at $2.14 with an exchange of 20,600 shares, Limners and Bards rose 1 cent to settle at $2.70  with 135,880 stocks changing hands. Lumber Depot lost 1 cent to finish at 99 cents, with 184,359 units traded and tTech advanced by 70 cents to end at $6.10 with 12,467 units crossing the exchange.

Junior Market loses ground on Friday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Friday, after declining, with more stocks falling than rising as investors traded five percent fewer shares but with a 15 percent higher value than on Thursday.
Trading ended with 32 securities changing hands compared to 31  on Thursday and concluded with the prices of 14 stocks rising, the prices of  13  declining and five with prices remaining unchanged. At the close, the Junior Market Index lost 32.10 points to finish the week at 2,507.17. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,217,915 shares for $3,340,277  compared to 1,285,358 units at $2,896,174 on Thursday.
On a day of low volumes, Indies Pharma led trading with 350,453 shares for 29 percent of total volume, followed by Mailpac Group with 293,441 units for 24 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana with 94,240 units for 7.7 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 38,060 units at $104,384 in contrast to 41,463 at $93,425 on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in 115,829 units changing hands at $329,630, in comparison to 122,004 units at $347,515 on Thursday. Trading in  July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727.

At the close of the market,  CAC 2000 jumped $1.54 to end at $12 with investors transferring 100  stock units, Cargo Handlers lost 77 cents to settle at $6.53 in the exchange of 4,600 stock units,  Caribbean Assurance Brokers slipped 1 cent to $2.22 in trading 12,020 shares.  Caribbean Flavours declined by 4 cents to finish at $14.95  with 18 stock units changing hands, Caribbean Producers lost 3 cents to close at $2.40 in an exchange of 92,418  units, Derrimon Trading ended 24 cents higher at $2.77 with investors transferring 20,100 shares. Everything Fresh rose 11 cents to finish at 72 cents with 11,918 stocks trading, Express Catering fell 2 cents to settle at $3.50 with investors switching ownership of 19,400 units.  Fontana gained 7 cents to close at $4.88 with 94,240  units changing hands, Fosrich declined by 5 cents to end at $3.75 in the exchange of  859 shares, General Accident carved out a loss of 30 cents in trading 18,289 stocks to settle at $6.70. Honey Bun lost 1 cent to close at $5.09 with investors transferring  16,364 shares, iCreate advanced 4 cents to finish at 67 cents with an exchange of 46,450 units, Indies Pharma dropped 30 cents to end at $2.50 with 350,453 shares traded. Jetcon Corporation gained 4 cents to settle at 86 cents with 11,030 shares changing hands, Knutsford Express rose 9 cents to close at $6.90 in the exchange of 17,718  stock units, Lasco Distributors slipped 2 cents to $3.24 with investors transferring 6,165 units. Lasco Financial fell 13 cents to settle at $2.16 with 50,561 shares traded,  Lasco Manufacturing shed 28 cents to finish at $3.61 with 4,089 stock units changing hands, Limners and Bards gained 5 cents to close at $2.74 with an exchange of 28,282 stock units. Lumber Depot increased by 8 cents to end at $1.05 with investors transferring 32,270 stocks,  Mailpac Group advanced by 3 cents and traded  293,441 shares to close at $2.03, Main Event climbed 47 cents to end at $3.97 with 100 units changing hands. Medical Disposables declined by 5 cents to close at $4.90 in an exchange of 23,650 stock units, Stationery and Office Supplies gained 18 cents to finish at $5.79 trading 100 stocks and tTech rose 16 cents to close at $5.50 with 200 stocks crossing the exchange.
In the preference sector, Derrimon Trading preference share carved out a gain of 30 cents to finish at $2.30 with 100 stock units changing hands.

Junior Market just hangs on to gains

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange just helped on to a modest gain at closed on Friday, with the market inching higher after an almost equal number of stocks rose and declined after a small eight percent more shares changed hands than on Thursday.
Trading ended with 27 securities changing hands compared to 31 on  Thursday and ended with the prices of eight stocks rising, the prices of nine declining and ten with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 4.85 points to end at 2,599.86, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.5 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,470,609 units at $14,092,682 compared to 3,221,829 units at $8,756,559 on Thursday.
Jamaican Teas led trading with 1.96 million shares for 56.4 percent of total volume, followed by Mailpac Group with 719,506 units for 20.7 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana with 183,647 units for 5.3 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 128,541 units at $521,951 in contrast to  103,930 at $282,470  on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 136,446 shares at  $382,221, in comparison to 137,315 units at $373,348 on Thursday. Trading to date compares adversely to July, with an average of 248,153 units at $668,727.

Caribbean Producers carved out a loss 5 cents to close at $2.45, with 10,150 stocks crossing the market, Elite Diagnostic shed 2 cents to end at $3.15 with investors switching ownership of 45,705 stock units, Fontana lost 7 cents to end at $4.99 with an exchange of 183,647 shares. General Accident dropped 15 cents to end at $7.20 in exchanging 11,944 stocks, iCreate lost 3 cents to settle at 65 cents in an exchange of 83,321 stock units, ISP Finance fell 41 cents to settle at $14.59, with ten shares changing hands, Jamaican Teas dropped by 50 cents to settle at $4.50 in trading 1,956,594 stock units. Lasco Distributors carved out a loss of 6 cents in closing at $3.34 and exchanging 20,587 stock units, Lasco Manufacturing added 9 cents in closing at $3.99 in trading 26,000 stocks, Limners and Bards gained 9 cents to finish at $2.80 with an exchange of 6,853 shares. Lumber Depot increased 2 cents in closing at $1.05 and trading 2,100 units. Medical Disposables rose 9 cents to $5, with 5,387 stock units crossing the exchange, SSL Venture carved out an increase of 11 cents to close at 86 cents, with an exchange of 1,500 units and Stationery and Office Supplies lost 20 cents to close at $5.60 in trading 44,707 shares.
