Junior Market at 4 months high

The Junior Market closed on Monday with the best finish in four months after the market index climbed 40.76 points to 2,591.55, the highest level since August 14 when it closed at 2599.86 points. At just after midday, the index climbed as high as 2614.45 but eventually settled lower and bettering Friday’s close.

Jamaican Teas traded the most volume on Monday.

The market closed with investors trading 469 percent more shares than Friday leaving declining stocks to outnumber advancing ones, with 12 stocks rising, 14 declining and 12 ending with prices unchanged after 38 securities changed hands up from 34 on Friday and resulted in an exchange of 13,471,646 shares for $33,806,568 up from 2,367,751 units at $5,915,555 on Friday.
Jamaican Teas led trading with 43.2 percent of total volume trading 5.82 million shares, followed by Mailpac Group with 22.7 percent after an exchange of 3.05 million units and Fosrich with 21.2 percent market share for a transfer of 2.85 million units.
Trading averaged 354,517 units at $889,647, up from 69,640 at $173,987 on Friday. The month to date averaged 320,769 units at $731,644, up from 316,508 units at $711,697 on Friday. November closed with an average of 193,331 units at $566,885 trading.
The average PE Ratio ended at 13.7 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

At the close of the market, Access Financial fell 10 cents to $20.10 with an exchange of 8,666 shares,  AMG Packaging declined 22 cents to $1.46 with 158,125 stocks changing hands, Blue Power dropped 36 cents to $3 with 15,265 units trading. CAC 2000 jumped $2 to $10 with 2,182 shares traded, Cargo Handlers lost 20 cents to close at $6.80 with a transfer of 100 stock units, Caribbean Producers inched 1 cent higher to $2.95 with an exchange of 21,296 units. Derrimon Trading rose 25 cents to $2.50 with 1,235 stocks changing hands, Dolphin Cove climbed 80 cents to $6.80 with investors switching 161 shares, Elite Diagnostic gained 5 cents to close at $3.05 with 43,857 stock units traded. Everything Fresh closed 4 cents higher at 75 cents with a transfer of 2,412 stocks, Fontana slipped 7 cents to $5.43 with 127,515 units passing through the market, Fosrich exchanged 2,852,248 shares and shed 56 cents to end at $3.43. General Accident dropped 14 cents to $5.96 with 51,248 units changing hands, GWest Corporation rose 2 cents to 77 cents with a transfer of 1,000 stock units, Honey Bun fell 69 cents to $5.80 with 31,194 stocks changing hands. iCreate gained 11 cents to finish at 70 cents with 25,769 shares passing through the market, Indies Pharma slipped 2 cents to $2.48 with an exchange of 31,307 stocks, Iron Rock Insurance advanced 22 cents to $3.10 after trading 725 stock units.

Lasco Manufacturing dropped 20 cents to $3.70 with 708 shares changing hands, Limners and Bards rose 6 cents to $2.85 with a transfer of  180,351 units, Lumber Depot increased 16 cents to $1.50 with 628,682 stocks passing through the market. Mailpac Group traded 3,053,112 stock units and settled with a gain of 13 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $2.73 after the price bolted to an intraday record high of $3.10. Main Event declined 1 cent to $2.99 with 15,369 units trading, Medical Disposables fell 10 cents to $3.90 with investors switching ownership of 4,295 stocks. SSL Venture dropped 14 cents to a 52 weeks’ low of 45 cents with 100,000 units changing hands and Tropical Battery slipped 1 cent to $1.16 with 90,846 shares crossing the exchange.

Another market topping day for Mailpac

For a second consecutive day, Mailpac Group commanded the lion’s share of the day’s trade on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, accounting for 91 percent of the shares exchanged on Wednesday, up a bit from 90 percent on Tuesday when 44.22 million shares traded. 

MailPac traded 14.2 million shares to dominate Junior Market trading.

Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands, down from 38 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 11 rising, 14 declining and 9 closed unchanged.
The Junior Market Index lost 3.76 points to end at 2,519.00 and the average PE Ratio ended at 12.9 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading closed with 213 percent fewer shares than on Tuesday, with an exchange of 15,670,241 shares or $34,936,702 down from 49,121,788 units at $110,386,381 on Tuesday.
Mailpac Group had a second day trading a large number of shares and ended leading trading for a second day with 14.26 million shares, followed by Jamaican Teas with 4.2 percent of the day’s trade or 665,663 units and Lasco Financial with 0.6 percent market share with an exchange of 90,062 units.
Trading averaged 460,889 units at $1,027,550 in contrast to 1,292,679 at $2,904,905 on Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade is 381,049 units at $858,170, compared to 367,408 units at $829,230 on Tuesday. November closed with an average traded of 193,331 units at $566,885.

Mailpac leads trading with 44m shares

Mailpac dominated trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with the stock accounting for 90 percent of the day’s volume which saw rising stocks far outweighing decliners. The market managed modest gains as investors exchanged 1,326 percent more shares than on Monday.
The market closed with an exchange of 49,121,788 shares for $110,386,381, up from 3,445,343 units at $7,674,800 on Monday. Mailpac Group led trading with 44.23 million shares, followed by Caribbean Producers with 6.3 percent of the day’s trade with an exchange of 3.11 million units and Jamaican Teas with 0.9 percent market share with a transfer of 426,360 units.
Trading ended with 38 securities changing hands up from 33 on Monday and concluded with the prices of 19 stocks rising, nine declining and 10 remaining unchanged.
The Market Index rose 20.96 points to 2,522.76. The average PE Ratio ended at13.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

More stocks fell than rose as 48 percent fewer shares were traded than on Thursday, and helping in driving the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange to close down on Friday after the market moved higher in the morning session.
Trading ended with 33 securities changing hands compared to 29 on Thursday and concluded with the prices of 11 stocks rising, 16 declining and six remaining unchanged.
The Junior Market Index shot up to 2,540.66 points after an hour and three-quarters of trading and later plummeted more than 44 points to close at 2,496.22, after a decline of 9.44 points from the close on Thursday. The average PE Ratio ended at 13.2 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with 3,764,642 shares trading for $7,764,562 compared to 7,231,212 units at  $17,420,235 on Thursday. Jamaican Teas led trading with 34 percent of the day’s volume after a transfer of 1.28 million shares, followed by Lumber Depot with 24.1 percent with an exchange of 909,101 units and Mailpac Group with 12.3 percent or 463,285 shares.

Stocks rose for the fourth consecutive day on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange when the market index eked a modest rise at the close on Tuesday despite more stocks falling than rising as market activity accounted for 65 percent fewer shares changing hands than on Monday.
Trading ended with 35 stocks changing hands compared to 34 on Monday, with prices of 13 stocks rising, 18 declining and four remaining unchanged.
The Market Index squeezed out a gain of 5.26 points to close at 2,521.33. The average PE is 13.1 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading in 6,501,187 shares for $15,100,161 versus 10,722,538 units at $28,515,368 on Monday. Junior Market holds on

Rising stocks squeezed out declining ones at the end of Mondays’ trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange as the market closed out November with the market eking out a modest gain as it ended the month with a small net gain over October’s close as it remained in a narrow trading range from the summer months.
The market closed with a sharply increased volume of 221 percent and valued 247 percent over Friday’s level.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands compared to 35 on Friday and closed with the prices of 17 stocks rising, 14 declining and three remaining unchanged. Investors traded 10,722,538 shares for $28,515,368 compared to 3,342,645 units at $8,216,185 on Friday. Derrimon Trading led trading with 35.2 percent of the total volume for 3.78 million shares followed by Mailpac Group with 16 percent for 1.72 million units. Rising stocks equaled declining ones and helped move the market index of Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market up at the close on Thursday after trading 32 percent fewer shares with a 17 percent fall in value compared to Wednesday.
Trading ended with shares of 32 companies changing hands compared to 38 on Wednesday with an equal number of 15 stocks rising and declining, with two remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 28.32 points to settle at 2,487.75 after trading over the 2,500 points mark in the morning session. The average PE Ratio ended at 12.5 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

Junior Market tumbles on Wednesday

The market index rose to more than 2,556 points within an hour of trading on Wednesday but selling drove the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange down at the close, with the market index dropping nearly 100 points from the day’s peak to finish with a loss for the day of 70.49 points to settle at 2,459.43.
Trading ended with more stocks declining than rising after an exchange of 33 percent more shares than on Tuesday. The market closed with 38 securities changing hands compared to 33 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 15 stocks rising, 17 declining and six remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ends at 12.5 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market saw an exchange of 7,027,159 shares for  $23,247,610 compared to 5,272,918 units at $15,658,293 on Tuesday.
Fosrich led trading with 34.2 percent of total volume with an exchange of 2.4 million shares, followed by  Jamaican Teas with 13.9 percent after a transfer of 976,355 units and Tropical Battery with 9.6 percent market share for 675,760 stock units.
Trading ended with an average of 184,925 units at $611,779 compared to 159,785 at $474,494 on Tuesday. The month to date average trade is 194,462 units at $568,878, compared to 195,107

Express Catering shed 67 cents to settle at $3.31 with an exchange of 89,040 stocks, Fontana climbed 30 cents to end at $5.38 with 149,049 units changing hands, General Accident gained 10 cents to finish at $6.20 with 62,300 shares traded. GWest Corporation rose 11 cents to close at 76 cents with 34,793 stocks passing through the market, iCreate lost 3 cents to settle at 59 cents with a transfer of 59,812 units, Indies Pharma increased 7 cents to $2.50, trading 89,073 shares. Iron Rock Insurance dropped 20 cents to finish at $2.80 with 31,000 stocks changing hands, Jamaican Teas exchanged 976,355 shares and climbed 20 cents to close at $6.70, Jetcon Corporation slipped 1 cent to 83 cents with 170,553 units passing through the market. Knutsford Express rose 5 cents to $6.70 with 1,000 shares traded, Lasco Financial gained 4 cents to end at $2.64 with a transfer of 10,000 stocks, Lasco Manufacturing fell 35 cents to $3.50 with investors switching ownership of 511,000 units.

Junior Market slips up

Early morning trading pushed the index above Monday’s close for the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market on Tuesday to 2,556.57, but the market failed to hold on to the gains and closed the day with a modest fall after more stocks declined than rose, with 12 percent fewer shares traded than Monday.
Trading ended with 33 securities changing hands compared to 37 on Monday and closed with the prices of 11 stocks rising, 14 declining and eight remaining unchanged. Dolphin Cove closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $5.50.
At the close, the Junior Market Index shed 11.88 points to settle at 2,529.92. The average PE Ratio ended at 12.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading ended with an exchange of 5,272,918 shares for $15,658,293 compared to 5,999,938 units at $21,980,840 on Monday. Lasco Financial led trading with 38.7 percent of total volume for 2.04 million shares, followed by Mailpac Group with 20.3 percent after an exchange of 1.07 million and Jamaican Teas with 9.1 percent market share for 482,354 units.

Express Catering gained 24 cents to close at $3.98, in trading 5,010 units, Fontana gained 8 cents and closed at $5.08, in the transfer of 292,599 shares, Fosrich fell 49 cents to $4 after exchanging 75,552 shares. Mailpac Group ended 1 cent lower at $2.16 trading 1,071,273 shares, Paramount Trading fell 5 cents to settle at $1.30, with an exchange of 29,900 stock units, Tropical Battery gained 3 cents to close at $1.19, in crossing the market with 176,737 shares and tTech fell 8 cents to $4.87, with 50 units changing hands.

Junior Market stocks rose to 2,580.21 within an hour of trading opening at the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, but the market retreated and closed with a modest gain after more stocks declined than rose as investors traded 44 percent more shares than on Thursday.
The Market Index gained 4.03 points to settle at 2,537.29 and the market closed with an average PE Ratio of 12.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading closed with 31 securities changing hands compared to 32 on Thursday, ending with the prices of nine stocks rising, 13 declining and nine remaining unchanged.
Trading ended with an exchange of 4,844,204 shares for $20,370,620 versus 3,353,944 units at $7,247,408 on Thursday.
Jamaican Teas led trading with 56 percent of total volume in an exchange of 2.72 million shares, followed by Jetcon Corporation with 14.6 percent with a transfer of 706,934 units and AMG Packaging with 13.9 percent for 671,366 shares.
Trading ended with an average of 156,265 units at $657,117 in contrast to 104,811 at $226,481 on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 199,954 units at $570,000, compared to 202,892 units at $564,142 on Thursday. October averaged 230,868 units at $535,509.
