Sharp rebound for Junior Market

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Friday with a sharp 75.10 points rebound in the market index to close at 2,962.20 as 36 securities changing hands up from 30 on Thursday.
At the close of market activities, the prices of 13 securities advanced, 15 declined and 8 remained unchanged, as 3,086,816 units traded for $7,108,119 compared to 1,829,296 units at $5,404,058 on Thursday.
Trading ended with an average of 85,745 units at $197,448 for each security traded, in contrast to 60,977 units for an average of $180,135 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to units 129,380 valued at $711,226 and previously 135,445 units valued at $395,381. In contrast, January closed with an average of 137,619 units valued at $521,935 for each security traded.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading shows four stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer. The average PE ratio for the Junior Market ended at 13.4 based on 2019 earnings.
At the close of the market, Access Financial lost 3 cents in trading 232 shares at $28.97, AMG Packaging closed with a loss of 8 cents at $1.90, after swapping of 29,885 shares, Caribbean Producers climbed 30 cents and exchanged 13,364 shares at $4.8, Derrimon Trading closed with 414,288 units changing hands and gaining 17 cents to end at $2.05. Elite Diagnostic fell by 2 cents trading 91,879 units to end at $4, Everything Fresh dipped 4 cents with 389,084 units crossing the exchange at a new low of 91 cents, Express Catering lost 30 cents to close at $5.50, after exchanging 12,570 units. Fontana shed 1 cent to close at $6.54, with 126,314 stock units changing hands, Fosrich fell 12 cents, trading of 6,149 units to settle at $3.84. General Accident closed 20 cents higher at $6.20, with 1,599 stock units trading, Honey Bun lost 4 cents with 15,847 units crossing the market to end at $7.15, Indies Pharma traded 2,214 stock units and closed 25 cents higher at $2.70. Jamaican Teas closed at $6.10, with a loss of 17 cents after swapping 40,926 shares, Jetcon Corporation ended at $1.39, after rising 17 cents and exchanging 4,000 stock units, Key Insurance closed trading of 10,000 units at $3.20, after gaining 30 cents, Knutsford Express climbed 15 cents to $9.45 and exchanged 400 shares. Lasco Financial closed trading of 400 units and gained 65 cents to end at $3.75, Lasco Manufacturing climbed 8 cents to $4.28, with a mere 200 units traded, Limners and Bards declined by 2 cents in trading 37,504 units at $2.67, Lumber Depot ended trading with 21,598 shares, after rising 3 cents to $1.50. Mailpac Group rose 12 cents to $2.10, with an exchange of 1,431,635 shares, Medical Disposables slid $1.40 to $5 in trading of 10,000 units, Paramount Trading closed with a loss of 3 cents at $1.47, in swapping of 19,000 shares. SSL Venture ended trading with 14,700 shares at $1.10, after rising 5 cents and Stationery and Office Supplies ended with a loss of $1 to settle at $8, with 7,376 stock units changing hands.
In the junior market preference segment, CAC 2000 ended with an exchange of 15,400 shares to close at 90 cents after falling 13 cents and Paramount Trading shed 5 cents to end at $2, trading 250,000 units.
