Prices up volume down on Junior market

The level of trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange fell sharply on Tuesday from the levels on Friday, resulting in an exchange of 533,674 units valued at $2,239,006 compared to 2,098,509 units valued at $11,226,036 on Monday.
At the close of market activities, with 17 securities changing hands, the prices of 8 advanced, 3 declined and 6 remained with the prices unchanged, leading to the Junior Market Index advancing by 25.83 points to close at 2,960.40.
Trading ended with an average of 31,393 units for an average of $131,706 in contrast to 83,940 units for an average of $449,041 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to units 320,596 valued at $62,671 previously. In contrast, September closed with average of 234,437 units valued at $1,295,260 for each security traded.
