Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange finished on Thursday with 16 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of only 468,877 units valued at $2,858,513 compared to 852,002 units valued at $3,622,384 on Wednesday.
At the close of market activities, the prices of 5 advanced, 5 declined and 6 remained with the prices unchanged leading to a rise of 3.28 points to 3,004.05 for the Junior Market Index.
Trading ended with an average of 29,305 units for an average of $178,657 in contrast to 44,842 units for an average of $190,652 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 137,160 units valued at $615,057 compared to 144,864 shares with an average of $646,228, previously. In contrast, August closed with average of 234,437 units valued at $1,295,260 for each security traded.
Trading ended with the market sentiments looking very weak and having negative implications for the Friday’s trading activity. Just 1 stock ended with the bid higher than their last selling price and 8 with lower offers.

Lasco Manufacturing ended with a loss of 5 cents at $4, with 11,454 shares, Medical Disposables ended with a loss of 30 cents at $4.50, with 2,620 stocks, Main Event gained 32 cents and ended at $5.60, with 31,572 stocks, Stationery and Office finished 10 cents higher at $4.85, with 12,968 shares and tTech settled at $7.55, with 5,100 stocks trading.
