JSE USD trading dropped sharply

Trading dropped sharply on the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market on Monday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 73 percent carrying a 93 percent lower value than on Friday and resulting in the exchange of seven securities, compared to eight on Friday with prices of three rising, three declining and one ending unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 374,893 shares for US$8,267 sharply down from 1,373,440 stock units at US$127,152 on Friday.
Trading averaged 53,556 shares at US$1,181 compared to 171,680 shares at US$15,894 on Friday, with a month to date average of 79,256 shares at US$4,791 compared with 85,919 units at US$5,728 on the previous day and September that ended with an average of 161,382 units for US$5,462.
The US Denominated Equities Index declined 0.58 points to finish at 221.92.
The PE Ratio, one of the best known measures used to determine appropriate stock values, averages 6.7. The PE ratio is calculated based on last traded prices divided by projected earnings, computed by ICInsider.com for companies with financial year ending around August 2025.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows three stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
At the close, First Rock Real Estate USD share skidded 0.69 of a cent to 3.31 US cents with investors dealing in 12,000 stocks, Margaritaville popped 2 cents to finish at 10 US cents in switching ownership of 253 units, Proven Investments gained 0.01 of one cent and ended at 10 US cents after an exchange of 3,040 shares. Sterling Investments fell 0.09 of a cent to close at 1.59 US cents with 3,343 stock units passing through the market, Sygnus Credit Investments remained at 7.3 US cents after a transfer of 5,999 shares, Sygnus Real Estate Finance USD share rose 0.1 of one cent to end at 7 US cents with 9 stock units crossing the market and Transjamaican Highway shed 0.07 of a cent in closing at 2 US cents in an exchange of 350,249 stocks.
