The main Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed lower on Wednesday with JSE All Jamaican Composite Index falling 682.73 points to 321,101.12 and the JSE Index down by 622.05 points to 292,559.42.
Trading on Wednesday closed with 29 securities changing hands, leading to 13 advancing, 7 declining and 9 trading firm, in the main and US dollar markets.
The securities with the largest price changes include, Berger Paints ending with a gain of 95 cent to $17.95, Jamaica Producers Group that added $1.99 to end at $16.99 and Proven Investments 8.25% preference share that fell 85 cents to $5.15.
Main market activity ended with 5,151,580 units valued at $52,948,353 changing hands, versus 10,582,771 units valued at $143,248,381 on Tuesday. Victoria Mutual Investments accounted for 1,394,445 units of the day’s trades, JMMB Group 7.5% preference share ended trading 923,998 units and Ciboney 881,196 shares as the price recovered to 12 cents from its recent 52 weeks’ low.
Trading results in an average of 183,985 shares valued at 1,891,013 for each security traded, compared to 391,954 shares valued at $5,305,496 on Tuesday. 
For the month to date an average of 1,185,335 units with an average value at $16,782,174 traded, compared to 1,452,362 units with an average value at $16,597,564 traded on the previous trading day. In contrast, February closed with average of 213,336 units valued at $3,392,475 for each security traded.
Trading in the US dollar market ended with Proven Investments concluded trading at 21.50 US cents, up from 21.10 cents with 4,510 units changing hands with a value of US$970 as the market index rose 1.87 points to 167.72.
