Jam$ slips against all on Thursday

100bill Trading of foreign currency in the forex market on Thursday, saw the US dollar selling rate gaining ground against the Jamaican dollar, the pound and Canadian dollar versus the local currency. The equivalent of US$62,949,698 was bought by dealers, compared with US$38,513,726 on Wednesday, while they sold the equivalent of US$55,331,440 versus US$43,034,863 previously.
In US dollar trading , dealers bought US$59,788,012 compared to US$35,208,960 on Wednesday. The buying rate for the US dollar rose 20 cents to $119.34 and US$52,478,263 was sold versus US$41,144,885 on Wednesday, the selling rate gained 2 cents to $119.68.FX trade sum 21-10-15 The Canadian dollar buying rate fell 44 cents to end at $88.39 with dealers buying C$1,464,400 and selling C$2,039,783, at an average rate that climbed $1.78 cents to $92.32. The rate for buying the British Pound slipped $1.12 to $181.03 for the purchase of £1,239,252, while £751,569 was sold, at an average rate that rose 82 cents to $184.37. At the end of trading, it took J$135.86 to purchase the Euro, with a rise of 24 cents from Wednesday’s rate, according to data from Bank of Jamaica, while dealers purchased the European common currency at J$133.25 for an increase of 29 cents on Wednesday’s rate. The US dollar equivalent of other currencies traded, amounts to US$197,184 being bought, while US$121,941 was sold.
Highs & Lows| The highest buying rate for the US dollar ended with a fall of $1 to $120, but the lowest buying rate ended 8 cents higher at $98.28, FX H&L 21-10-15highest selling rate advanced 11 cents to $125.94 and lowest selling rate rose 9 cents to $98.28. The highest buying rate for the Canadian dollar rose 65 cents to $92.45, the lowest buying rate declined by 12 cents to end at $73.54, the highest selling rate lost 16 cents to end at $94.80 and the lowest selling rate lost 40 cents to end at $87.30. The highest buying rate for the British Pound, gained 15 cents to end at $185. The lowest buying rate fell 16 cents to $148.74, the highest selling rate dropped $2.90 to $189.06 and the lowest selling rate fell 50 cents to end at $177.
