The Jamaica dollar held ground against the US dollar on Tuesday with the equivalent of US$39,633,518 being bought by dealers, compared with US$54,993,668 on Monday, while they sold the equivalent of US$28,821,789 versus US$59,279,907 previously.
In US dollar trading , dealers bought US$37,263,331 compared to US$49,143,690 on Monday. The buying rate for the US dollar fell 10 cents to $118.96 and US$26,530,020 was sold versus US$56,411,806 on Monday, the selling rate remained at $119.47. 
The Canadian dollar buying rate slipped 47 cents to end at $88.59, with dealers buying C$679,495 and selling C$1,238,320, at an average rate that rose 49 cents to $91.91. The rate for buying the British Pound declined 29 cents to $179.95 for the purchase of £1,170,633, while £622,411 was sold, at an average rate that fell $1.05 to $181.55. At the end of trading, it took J$135.86 to purchase the Euro, with a rise of $27 from Monday’s rate, according to data from Bank of Jamaica, while dealers purchased the European common currency at J$133.37 for a gain of 30 cents on Monday’s rate. The US dollar equivalent of other currencies traded, amounts to US$93,293 being bought, while US$393,340 was sold.
Highs & Lows| The highest buying rate for the US dollar added 5 cents on Tuesday to end at $119.75, the lowest buying rate ended unchanged at $97.95, 
the highest selling gained 43 cents to close at $126.05 and the lowest selling rate climbed $1.94 to end at $99.88. The highest buying rate for the Canadian dollar rose 30 cents to $92, the lowest buying rate rose 42 cents to be at $73.46, the highest selling rate gained $1.47 to end at $95.80 and the lowest selling rate fell $2 to $86. The highest buying rate for the British Pound, rose $2 to end at $185.20. The lowest buying rate climbed 63 cents to $147.91, the highest selling rate dropped $1.87 to $188 and the lowest selling rate lost 30 cents to close at $176.
