J$ at lowest against US on Monday

FX_USPound2 The selling rate for the Jamaican dollar fell to it’s lowest, against the US dollar on Monday, with US$6 million more sold than bought. Purchases by dealers of foreign currencies on Monday, resulted in the Jamaican currency selling rate slipping against the Canadian dollar and the British Pound.
The market closed with dealers buying the equivalent of US$23,781,584 in contrast to US$43,580,467 on Friday, while they sold the equivalent of US$27,537,023, previously US$34,164,793.
In US dollar trading , dealers bought US$20,212,171 compared to US$40,116,402 on Friday. The buying rate for the US dollar declined 55 cents to $117.13 and US$26,270,588 was sold versus US$27,537,023 on Friday, the selling rate rose 18 cents to close at $118.34. The Canadian dollar buying rate fell 47 cents to $85.87, with dealers buying C$1,123,358 and selling C$669,416, at an average rate that slipped 90 cents to $88.49.
FX sum 7-9-15The rate for buying the British Pound fell 77 cents to $177.11 for the purchase of £1,693,501, while £459,251 was sold, at an average rate that fell 24 cents to end at $179.14. At the end of trading, it took J$131.34 to purchase the Euro, an increase of 23 cents on Friday’s rate, according to data from Bank of Jamaica, while dealers purchased the European common currency at J$128.85, a rise of 47 cents on Friday’s rate. Other currencies bought, amounted to the equivalent of US$185,140, while the equivalent of US$70,662 was sold.
Highs & Lows| The highest buying rate for the US dollar, rose 10 cents to $118.85, the lowest buying rate gained 9 cents to $96.78 and the highest selling rate rose 32 cents to $124.01. FX H&L 7-9-15The lowest selling rate dived $17.64 to $96.36. The highest buying rate for the Canadian dollar lost 15 cents to $89.25, the lowest buying rate closed 33 cents higher at $70.80 and highest selling rate remained unchanged at $91.47. The lowest selling rate added 10 cents to end at $85. The highest buying rate for the British Pound, climbed $1.20 to $181.80, the lowest buying rate eased 45 cents to $144.09, the highest selling rate dropped $1.70 to $185.75 and the lowest selling rate lost 40 cents to $173.60.
