Honey Bun at new high – Thursday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange recorded modest gains in the early morning session on Thursday with mostly light trading volume as investors continue to digest results of companies and the impact of the change in government. The markets, however, seems to be settling down have undergone a fair bit of correction.
After 90 minutes of the market opening, 27 securities traded, accounting for only 3,773,743 shares changing hands. A total of 10 stocks declined and 6 rose.
The all Jamaica Composite Index gained 60.42 points to 171,393.09, the JSE Market Index rose by 54.06 points to 154,298.06, the JSE combined index 136.94 points to 163,126.30 and the junior market index rose 9.53 points to 1,952.58.
Honey Bun traded at a new all-time high of $16.50 after gaining $2.250 while trading 2,000 shares, National Commercial Bank traded 2,704,860 shares down to $40, Carreras traded 60,983 units at $65, Lasco Distributors traded steady with 95,500 at $5.50, Caribbean Cement rose $1.55 with 21,991 shares to trade at $22.18 and now has the bid at $22.15 to buy 100,000 shares, JMMB Group traded 212265 units at $10.42.
