3rd consecutive record close for JSE

At the close of trading the All Jamaica Composite Index climbed 369.13 points to close at a new closing high of 193,048.81 with the year to date gains at 16 percent. The JSE Market Index rose 378.06 points to finish at 173,661.75, a new closing high and the JSE combined index gained 229.67 points to end at 185,785.84 with a gain for the year to date of 18 percent.
At the close with 7,367,774 units valued at $196,760,012 changed hands, compared to 748,476 units valued at $7,664,842 changing hands on Monday.The junior market accounted for 215,605 units trading valued at $946,789 of the stocks traded.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 376,430 and 230,425 units month to date. On Monday, an average of 35,184 units traded and for the month to date, 84,420 units, in comparison the average for the October was 220,811 units.
The market closed with 33 securities trading as the prices of 13 gained while 14 declined in the overall market, including 6 stocks rising and 6 falling, in the junior market.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, in the main and junior markets, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading shows 16 stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and just 2 with lower offers.
In market activity, Barita climbed 45 cents in trading 10,000 shares to end at $4.95, Cable & Wireless lost 1 cent to close at 78 cents with 130,610 units trading, Carreras exchanged 440,140 shares at $66 to gain 50 cents, Grace Kennedy ended trading 17,960 units at $40.06. Jamaica Broilers rose 4 cents and closed at $14.99 with 8,205 shares changing hands, Jamaica Producers lost 15 cents and closed at $8.20 with 264,007 shares changing owners. Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 20,600 shares at $5.69, JMMB Group closed trading with 515,685 shares to end with a decline of 35 cents at $13.65, National Commercial Bank dropped $2.80 to end at $49.20 with 2,480,934 shares trading, PAN JAM Investments traded 102,200 shares but lost 64 cents to end at $24. Sagicor Group had 327,527 shares changing hands and rose 89 cents to close at $25, Scotia Group lost 30 cents in trading 135,304 shares to close at $31.21, Seprod gained $1 in trading 246,492 shares to end at $27. Supreme Ventures lost 15 cents in trading 2,014,900 shares at $4.80, Proven Investments ordinary share traded 7,252 units and ended at 19.49 US cents and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share traded 425,478 units at $2.10.
