The volume of stocks trading dropped 47 percent on Friday while the value jumped 313 percent more than on Thursday, at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market, resulting in 11 securities changing hands, compared to nine on Thursday with four rising, three declining and four ending unchanged.
The JSE US Denominated Equities Index rose 3.62 points to end at 227.59.

Overall, 302,622 shares were traded for US$59,279 versus 566,691 units at US$14,366 on Thursday. Trading averaged 27,511 units at US$5,389 against 62,966 shares at US$1,596 on Thursday, with a month to date average of 48,162 shares at US$2,498 versus 50,899 units at US$2,115 on the previous day. April ended with an average of 95,379 units for US$3,929.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows no stock ending with a bid higher than the last selling price and two with lower offers.
At the close, First Rock Capital USD share advanced 0.04 of a cent to end at 7.9 US cents in switching ownership of 1,356 shares, Margaritaville remained at 15 US cents, with 18 stocks crossing the market, Productive Business Solutions ended unchanged at US$1.18 with the swapping of 169 stock units. Proven Investments rose 0.81 of a cent to 26.8 US cents in exchanging 195,847 units, Sterling Investments lost 0.01 of one cent in ending at 2.24 US cents, with 12,982 units changing hands, 
Sygnus Credit Investments USD share rose 0.1 of a cent to close at 12.95 US cents after 40,625 shares crossed the exchange. Sygnus Real Estate Finance USD share popped 0.84 of one cent to 14.64 US cents trading 1,987 stocks and Transjamaican Highway finished at 1.06 US cents after trading 49,000 stock units.
In the preference segment, Eppley 6% preference share dropped 14.4 cents to 96 US cents after exchanging 491 shares, Equityline Mortgage Investments preference share fell 2.9 cents in closing at US$1.97 with 100 stocks crossing the market and JMMB Group 6% remained at US$1.02 after trading 47 stock units.
