TTSE struggles along – Wednesday

TTSE build The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange recorded a mild gain on Wednesday as trading ended with 145,432 shares valued at $2,060,668 changing hands as 5 securities traded with large values. The market closed with 12 securities traded, 2 gained, 3 declined, while 7 remained unchanged. One stock closed at a 52 weeks’ high and two at 52 weeks’ lows.
At the end of trading, the Composite Index lost 0.94 points to close at 1,132.96, the All T&T Index fell 1.80 points to close at 1,812.28 and the Cross Listed Index eased by 0.01 at 60.25.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with 6 stocks with the bid higher than the last selling price and 10 with offers that were lower the same as on Tuesday.
Gains| National Enterprises closed with just 900 shares changing hands at $10.06 after rising 6 cents and Prestige Holdings traded 82 units to close with a gain of 5 cents at close at a 52 weeks’ high of $11.26.
Losses| Guardian Holdings had 39,200 shares changing hands for a value of $519,400 but lost 55 cents, to close at $13.25. Republic Financial Holdings declined by 1 cent to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $111.48 with 35 shares changing hands and TTSE 06-04-16Scotiabank closed with 85 shares changing hands with a loss of 1 cent at a 52 weeks’ low of $57.40.
Firm Trades| Clico Investment Fund ended at $22.51 with 39,790 shares valued at $895,673 changing hands, FirstCaribbean International Bank traded 9,126 shares to close at $6.50, First Citizens had 5,900 shares changing hands with the price ending at $33.98. Grace Kennedy had 27,531 shares changing hands at $5.15. Sagicor Financial closed at $7.01 with 18,153 units changing hands while Trinidad and Tobago NGL closed at $20.50 as 4,600 units traded and West Indian Tobacco traded 30 shares to close at $126.28.
