Trading levels dip for Junior Market

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange dropped back sharply on Thursday from the elevated levels on Wednesday.  
The market closed with 21 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 601,551 units valued at $2,159,981, compared to 9,928,768 units valued at $27,422,845 on Wednesday from trading in 16 stocks. GWest Corporation traded at an all-time low of $1.30, down from $2,50 when it listed in December 2017.
At the close of market activities, the prices of 7 securities advanced, 8 declined and 6 remained unchanged. The Junior Market Index advanced by 0.63 points to close at 3,121.44.
Trading ended with an average of 28,645 units for an average of $102,856 in contrast to 620,548 units for an average of $1,713,928 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 245,207 units at a value of $1,397,711, versus 271,046 units at a value of $1,552,211, previously. November, ended with an average of 190,475 units valued at $653,358 for each security traded.

At the close of the day’s activity, Access Financial closed with a loss of $3 at $47.50, in trading a mere 250 shares, CAC 2000 ended at $16.90, with an exchange of 7,197 shares, Caribbean Cream ended trading with a loss of 5 cents at $5.25, with 2,500 shares changing hands, Caribbean Producers finished trading at $5.35, with an exchange of 2,500 units, Consolidated Bakeries closed with a loss of 3 cents at $2, while 100,000 shares were traded. Derrimon Trading ended with a loss of 15 cents at $2.55, with 5,500 shares changing hands, Elite Diagnostic finished 13 cents higher at $3, with an exchange of 1,500 stock units, Everything Fresh recovered from the low it fell to on Wednesday, as it gained 20 cents in trading just 890 shares to close at $1.21. Eppley settled at $9, with an exchange of 765 units, FosRich Group traded 20,768 shares at $3.79,  General Accident finished trading of 1,301 shares, with a loss of 45 cents to end at $3.30,  GWest Corporation lost 15 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $1.30, with an exchange of 27,000 stock units, Honey Bun  ended 30 cents higher at $3.80, with 1,310 units changing hands, Indies Pharma  traded 122,376 shares to close at $3.10,  Iron Rock  concluded trading of 14,256 shares for a rise of 70 cents to $4.40. Jamaican Teas settled at $3.70, with an exchange of 2,793 shares, Knutsford Express  closed 10 cents higher at $10.50, with 1,797 shares changing hands, Lasco Distributors  ended 10 cents higher at $3.90, in trading 262,985 shares, Lasco Financial concluded trading 80 cents higher at $4.90, with 10,947 stock units. Main Event settled with a loss of 1 cent at $6, with 12,654 shares changing hands and Stationery and Office finished trading 2,262 stock units with a loss of 25 cents to end at $8.55.
