Trading drops on JSE USD Market

Trading volume declined by 80 percent with a 79 percent lower value than Wednesday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market ended on Thursday with the of stocks changing hands, resulting in three securities traded, compared to seven on Wednesday with all three declining.
Overall, 77,890 shares were traded for US$1,414 compared to 393,412 units at US$6,625 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 25,963 units at US$471 compared with 56,202 shares at US$946 on Wednesday, with a month to date average of 74,568 shares at US$2,272 compared with 75,970 units at US$2,324 on the previous day. May ended with an average of 43,350 units for US$2,759.
The US Denominated Equities Index rose 0.08 points to settle at 222.07.
The PE Ratio, a measure used in computing appropriate stock values, averages 8.6. The PE ratio is computed based on the last traded price divided by projected earnings done by ICInsider.com for companies with their financial year ending between November 2023 and August 2024.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows two stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
At the close, Sygnus Credit Investments dipped 0.89 of a cent to end at 10.1 US cents and 2,887 shares passed through the market and Transjamaican Highway lost 0.03 of a cent to close at 1.42 US cents after a transfer of 74,945 stock units
In the preference segmentEquityline Mortgage Investment preference share fell 17.77 cents and ended at US$1.0072 in an exchange of 58 units.
