Lasco Financial ended with 124,699 shares changing hands at $1.80, for a rise of 17 cents, Lasco Manufacturing gained 2 cents in closing at $1.72 with 12,053,445 units changing hands. Medical Disposables traded 13,000 shares to close unchanged at $2.50, Paramount Trading ended with 3,975 units changing hands unchanged at $6 and Eppley cumulative preference share 2019, ended with 50,000 units changing hands at $6.05.

Junior market drops 12% from peak

Trading finished with 4 stocks declining and 1 gaining out of 12 securities that traded, resulting in 3,952,442 units, valued at $11,099,945 changing hands. The market lost 30.25 points to close at 918.48, having shed 122 points or 12 percent since it peaked at 1,040.59 on August 11.
The August decline is a bit worse than the 10 percent pull back, after it recorded a peak of 934.69 on June 10, to bottom out on July 27. The sharp movement by junior market stocks is characteristic of the market around the release of results going back from the early days of the junior market index. At the close, 4 securities ended with no bids to buy, while 4 had no stocks being offered for sale and 2 stocks closed with bids higher than the last traded prices and 4 with the offers being lower.
Stocks trading are, Access Financial Services traded 1,500 shares to close at $10.50, with a gain of 50 cents at the close the bid was at $11 to buy 1,000 units. The stock has been trading on thin volumes, with support mostly around the $10 region. AMG Packaging closed at $3.95 with 4,000 units changing hands, Caribbean Cream traded 67,000 units to close 20 cents lower at $1.60. Junior market slips on Friday

The JSE junior market fell on Friday with 3 stocks rising and 3 declining including one stock that closed at a new all-time high at the close, 6 securities traded resulting in units valued at $3,010,668 changing hands. The market fell 8.76 points to close at 1,028.38.

KLE with a small volume of 1,364 shares, lost 5 cents to close at 65 cents, the lowest price it has traded at to date. At the close KLE was offered for sale at 60 cents and had no bids posted to buy. Lasco Distributors traded 47,500 shares and gained 4 cents to end at $1.69, Lasco Financial Services 19,800 shares at $1.81 after losing 12 cents and Paramount Trading closing at a new 52 weeks high of $6, after adding 89 cents. Caribbean Cream did not traded but closed with an offer to sell 30,000 units at $1.55 with the last price the stock traded at being $1.60, the bid is someway off at $1.25.

JSE off to slow start Monday

After 60 minutes of trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, 14 securities traded with 4 rising and 6 declining comprising a total volume of 519,320 shares changing hands, only 2 stocks have so far traded in the junior market with both declining.
The all Jamaican Composite index inched up 179.45 to 108,283.79 points, JSE Combined Index put on 84.53 to 100,321.40 points, JSE Index is now at 97,827.49 points after adding 160.54 points and Junior Market Index fell to 892.53, down by 7.37 points.
The most noticeable trades so far are KLE with a small volume but ended down to 65 cents the lowest price it has traded at to date, Gleaner Company with 5,600 units at $1.29 with a 10 cents gain, for a 52 weeks’ high and Sagicor Group traded at $13. Paramount Trading has a bid at $6 versus the last traded price of $5.11 as investors try to find where supply may be.
