Huge jump in Junior Market trading

The volume of stocks surged on Thursday on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with volume climbing 321 percent higher than on Wednesday pushing the value up 338 percent as five securities traded over one million units.
Trading ended with 23,334,216 shares for $62,643,592 changing hands up from 5,538,712 units at $14,281,993 on Wednesday. Limners and Bards led trading with 46.2 percent of total volume after investors swapped 10.79 million shares, followed by Lumber Depot with 10.3 percent for 2.4 million units. Fosrich accounted for 8.8 percent of market share, with 2.06 million units for 8.8 percent market share, Caribbean Flavours with 8.6 percent for 2.01 million units, Mailpac Group with 8.1 percent for 1.89 million units and Derrimon Trading with 7.1 percent of the day’s trade for 1.65 million units.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands, down from 39 on Wednesday and closed with the prices of 16 stocks rising, 12 declining and six remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index climbed 11.77 points to settle at 2,776.72 having gained five percent for the year to date.  The average PE Ratio ended at 14.2 based on ICInsider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading averaged 686,300 units at $1,842,459 in contrast to 142,018 at $366,205 on Wednesday. Month to date trading averaged 338,928 units at $877,812, compared to an average of 230,573 units at $576,913 on Wednesday. January closed with an average of 232,651 units at $569,885.

Knutsford Express dipped 45 cents to $6.30 trading 1,765 units, Lasco Distributors fell 10 cents to $3.25, in an exchange of 5,001 stocks, Lasco Manufacturing rose 32 cents to $4.20, after 279,289 stock units crossed the market. Gains for Junior Market

Early morning trading sent the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market index racing to 2,800.39 points, but the market pulled back to close above Tuesday’s close at the end of market activity on Wednesday with the trading of 64 percent fewer shares than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 39 securities, up from 34 on Tuesday and closed with 11 rising, 18 declining and 10 remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index gained 19.94 points to settle at 2,764.95. The average PE Ratio ended at 14.2 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
A total of 5,538,712 shares traded for $14,281,993 well down from 15,516,613 units at $36,243,327 on Tuesday.
Jamaican Teas controlled 30.9 percent of total volume with an exchange of 1.71 million shares, followed by Lumber Depot with 12.9 percent for 715,010 units and Mailpac Group with 10.3 percent market share with an exchange of 569,898.
Trading averaged 142,018 units at $366,205 down from 456,371 at $1,065,980 on Tuesday. Month to date trading averaged 230,573 units at $576,913, versus 279,911 units at $694,307 on Tuesday. January closed with an average of 232,651 units at $569,885.

Express Catering dropped 24 cents to $3.50 with a transfer of 46,111 shares, Fosrich lost 10 cents to finish at $4.40 with the trading of 12,514 stocks, General Accident advanced 15 cents to $6.15 with 400 stock units changing hands, Honey Bun fell  35 cents to $5.50 with 55,967 units passing through the market. Jamaican Teas exchanged 1,712,909 stock units and lost 19 cents to close at $2.80, Knutsford Express jumped 45 cents to $6.75 with 843 units changing hands, Lasco Distributors lost 4 cents to close at $3.35 with 300 stock units traded. Lasco Financial fell 10 cents to $2.60 in trading 375,036 shares, Lasco Manufacturing gained 17 cents to $3.88 with 93,150 units passing through the market. Main Event climbed 18 cents to $3.30 with a transfer of 171,000 units, Medical Disposables dropped 21 cents to $3.99 with 25,194 stocks passing through the market and tTech advanced 16 cents to $4.56 with 5,377 units changing hands.

Caribbean Flavours leads trading

Caribbean Flavours lead trading on Tuesday with 47.7 percent of total volume, on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with investors snapping up 7.4 million shares, followed by Derrimon Trading with 32 percent of the day’s trade with 4.97 million units.

Rounding out the top three was Jamaican Teas with 5.7 percent market share with an exchange of 885,180 units.
The market declined with falling stocks just outnumbering rising ones after an exchange of 281 percent more shares, with a value that was 193 percent greater than on Monday.
Trading ended with 34 securities, down from 36 on Monday and closed with 13 rising, 14 declining and seven remaining unchanged.

Trading on Thursday resulted in a close mix of rising and declining stocks that left the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closing with a marginal rise in the market index after an exchange 66 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday and 64 percent fall in value.
Trading ended with 39 securities changing hands, the same number as on Wednesday, and ended with 12 stocks rising, 13 declining and 14 remaining unchanged. The Market Index gained 0.84 points to finish at 2,735.54.
The average PE Ratio ended at 14 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Traders exchanged 5,759,973 shares valued at $15,204,035, down from 17,186,260 units at $42,228,070 on Wednesday.
Derrimon Trading was the volume leader with 18.9 percent of total trade after an exchange of 1.09 million shares, followed by Limners and Bards with 18.3 percent after transferring 1.05 million units and Jamaican Teas 13.6 percent with an exchange of 782,148 units.

Junior Market slips on Tuesday

The winning streak of the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended on Tuesday, with the market declining after more stocks fell than rose with stocks traded moderately less in volume and value than on Monday.
Trading ended with 37 securities changing hands compared to 32 on Monday and ended with the prices of 13 rising, 15 declining and nine remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index fell 19.23 points to settle at 2,743.91. The average PE Ratio ended at 14.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 9,674,314 shares at $23,946,017, down from 10,405,305 units at $27,178,018 on Monday.
Derrimon Trading led trading with 39 percent of total volume with a transfer of 3.77 million shares, followed by Lumber Depot with 18.5 percent after trading 1.79 million units and Jamaican Teas with 16.5 percent with an exchange of 1.6 million units.

Rising Junior Market keeps climbing

Trading ending on Monday with a fair bit of sideward price movements and a moderate rise in the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market index, after more stocks advanced than declined with the trading of 53 percent more shares valued 46 percent more than those trading on Friday.
Market activity ended with 32 securities changing hands, down from 35 on Friday and closed with 14 stocks rising, 11 declining and seven closing unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index advanced by 13.48 points to 2,763.14. The average PE Ratio ended at 14.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

Stocks continue to eke out moderate gains to put the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market up 3.6 percent for the year to date, (64 percent annualized) with the Market Index adding 14.59 points on Thursday to end at 2,738.19 after more stocks declined than those rising and 11 percent fewer shares valued 19 percent less than on Wednesday, traded.
Trading ended with 35 securities changing hands compared to 28 on Wednesday and closed with 12  rising, 16 declining and seven closed unchanged.

Stocks pushed higher in trading on Monday to post year to date gains of just over three percent, with the Market Index increasing 22.89 points to 2,725.48 as the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed after rising stocks exceeded declining ones.

Junior Market nearing March 4 level

The young bulls continue to push upward pressure on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market in January moving the market up 2.2 percent to date, with a 22.27 points rise on Friday to 2,702.59, surpassing the mid-April high of 2,686.90.
The market index is now only 57 points away from the next high point of 2,758.76 points on March 4, last year, but still some way off from the March high at the start of that month.
Trading ended with 35 securities changing hands, up from 33 on Thursday and concluded with prices of 13 stocks rising, 15 falling and seven closed unchanged.
The market closed with investors exchanging 11 percent fewer shares with 15 percent lower value than on Thursday as 10,923,530 shares traded for $27,075,114, down from 12,301,306 units at $31,743,002 on Thursday. The average PE Ratio ended at 14 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Jamaican Teas led trading with 37.4 percent of total volume after trading 4.08 million shares, followed by Derrimon Trading 29 percent with an exchange of 3.17 million units and Caribbean Flavours with 11.4 percent market share with a transfer of 1.25 million stock units.
Trading averaged 312,101 units at $773,575in contrast to 372,767 at $961,909 on Thursday. Trading month to date, averaged 221,421 units at $551,003, up from 211,281 units at $526,115 on Thursday. December closed with an average of 263,428 units at $638,694.

Indies Pharma dropped 25 cents to $2.45 with 33,018 units passing through the market, Jamaican Teas exchanged 4,080,360 shares and gained 13 cents to finish at $2.48, Knutsford Express increased 8 cents to $6.78 with 3,559 units traded, Lasco Financial fell 4 cents to $2.60 with a transfer of 103,165 stocks.

Lumber Depot dropped 9 cents to close at $1.46 with 131,622 stocks changing hands. Mailpac Group advanced 15 cents in trading 982,100 stock units to finish at a record closing high of $3.75, Main Event gained 10 cents to end at $3.10 with a transfer of 6,165 units, Paramount Trading rose 5 cents to $1.30 with 3,920 shares changing hands and Stationery and Office Supplies jumped 43 cents to $4.54 with 47,002 stocks traded.
In the preference segmentDerrimon Trading advanced 2 cents to $2.10 with 12,211 stock units changing hands.
