Junior Market ekes out small gain

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Thursday, with the market squeezing out a small gain after more stocks rose than decline with a hefty 154 percent more shares trading than Wednesday.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 35 on Wednesday and ended with the prices of 15 stocks rising, the prices of 10 declining and six, with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of 3.26 points to close at 2,457.36. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.1 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,265,667 shares for $9,982,025 compared to 1,678,856 units at $4,184,920 on Wednesday. MailPac Group led trading with 3.52 million shares for 82.9 percent of total volume, followed by Limners and Bards with 374,097 units for 8.8 percent of the day’s trade and Lasco Distributors with just 51,906 units for 1.2 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 137,142 units at $322,001  in contrast to 47,967 at $119,569 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 90,508 units at $260,932, in comparison to 67,920 units at $231,351 on Wednesday. Trading in August resulted in an average of  104,426 units at $321,996 trading.

Caribbean Flavours shed 33 cents in transferring 12,648 stock units at $18, Caribbean Producers finished 9 cents higher at $2.40, with  4,750 stock units clearing the market, Dolphin Cove slid 99 cents to a 52 weeks’ low of $5.51, after trading 46,554 shares. Elite Diagnostic ended at $3.05, with a loss of 40 cents, with 400 units changing hands, Express Catering closed 15 cents higher at $3.50, after transferring 2,000 stock units, Fontana slipped 4 cents to $4.71, in exchanging 22,926 stock units. Fosrich picked up 10 cents to end at $3.90, with investors swapping 500 units, General Accident lost 8 cents to end at $6.40 in trading 4,000 units, Honey Bun gained 30 cents, ending at $5.10 as investors swapped 5,006 units. Indies Pharma gained 19 cents and ended at $2.84, with and 14,008 stock units clearing the market, ISP Finance climbed $2 in closing at $15 in transferring 1,000 units, Jamaican Teas rose 63 cents to close at $4.69, after an exchange of 3,000 units. Jetcon Corporation slipped 4 cents to 80 cents trading 9,510 stock units, Knutsford Express finished 10 cents higher at $6.90, with a transfer of 3,649 shares, Lasco Distributors carved out a gain of 10 cents to close at $3.10,  with 51,906 shares crossing the market. Lasco Financial gained 2 cents to settle at $2.15, in trading 51,250 shares, Lasco Manufacturing lost 18 cents to end $3.61 after exchanging  6,000 units, Limners and Bards shed 12 cents in closing at $2.61, while trading 374,097 shares. Lumber Depot gained 6 cents to end at $1.05, with a transfer of 4,511 units, MailPac Group closed at $2, with a gain of 1 cent in trading 3,522,281 shares, Main Event rose 30 cents to end at $3.70, in exchanging 100 units and tTech shed 60 cents to settle at $5.50 with investors swapping 40,849 shares.

Junior Market squeezes out gains

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange eked out a modest gain at the closed on  Wednesday, even as more stocks fell than rose after trading, resulted in 37 percent fewer shares changing hands than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 35 securities changing hands compared to 29 on Tuesday and ended with the prices of 13 stocks rising, 15  declining and seven remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index climbed 8.35 points to settle at 2,454.10. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,678,856 shares for $4,184,920 compared to 2,668,027 units at $10,621,549 on Tuesday. Jetcon Corporation led trading with 605,400 shares for 36.1 percent of total volume, followed by Lasco Distributors with 184,045 units for 11 percent of the day’s trade and Caribbean Producers with 183,684 units for 10.9 percent market share.
Trading for the day ended with an average of 47,967 units at  $119,569 in contrast to 92,001 at $366,260 Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 67,920 units at  $231,351 compares to August’s average of 104,426 units at $321,996.

Junior Market Index plunges

The Junior Market Index of the Jamaica Stock Exchange plunged 50.34 points to 2,480.92 on the last trading day of August, with the prices of 12 stocks rising, 16 declining and five remaining unchanged, after 33 securities changed hands compared to 25 on Friday.
At the close, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.2 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The Trading ended, with a 35 percent more shares passing through the market after investors exchanged  2,428,264 shares for $7,011,769 compared to  1,802,587   units at $6,948,536 on Friday. Mailpac Group led trading with 1.26 million shares for 51.8 percent of total volume followed  General Accident with 210,110 units for 8.7 percent of the day’s trade and iCreate with 210,000 units for 8.6 percent market share.

Jetcon Corporation fell 4 cents to settle at 82 cents in an exchange of  48,603 stocks, Lasco  Distributors advanced 24 cents to finish at $3.24 with 70,312 units traded, Lasco Manufacturing gained 9 cents to end at $3.89 with investors transferring 20 units.  Limners and Bards exchanged 274,649 shares and dropped 38 cents to close at $2.28, Lumber Depot slipped 2 cents to $1 with investors switching ownership of 20,000 stock units, Mailpac Group declined by 10 cents to settle at $1.97 with 563,033 units traded. Main Event increased 10 cents to close at $3.50  with investors transferring 6,284 stock units, Stationery and Office Supplies dropped 19 cents to finish at $5.60 in the trading of 124,072 stocks and tTech fell 9 cents to settle at $5.41 with 25,878  shares crossing the exchange.

Junior Market rises on Monday

Shares trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday jumped 179 percent over Friday level after the value of stocks exchanged surged 344 percent, leading to slightly more stocks rising than declining.
Trading ended with 27 securities changing hands compared to 32  on Friday and ended with the prices of 11 stocks rising, the prices of 10  declining and six, with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index increased 20.95 points to settle at 2,528.12, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,397,455 shares for $14,814,214  compared to 1,217,915 units at $3,340,277 on Friday.
Caribbean Assurance Brokers led trading with 1.50 million shares for 44.2 percent of total volume followed by Caribbean Flavours with 500,000 units for 14.7 percent of the day’s trade and Express Catering with 333,854 units for 9.8 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 125,832 units at $548,675 in contrast to 38,060 at $104,384  on Friday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 116,414 units at $342,431,  in comparison to 115,829 units at $329,630 on Friday. Trading in July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727 changing hands.

Derrimon Trading declined by 6 cents to end at $2.71 while exchanging  250  shares, Elite Diagnostic lost 25 cents to end at $3.10 in clearing the market with  10,000 stocks, Everything Fresh declined by 9 cents to end at 63 cents,  trading  5,000 shares. Express Catering gained 50 cents in ending at $4,  with 333,854 stocks crossing the market, Fontana rose 10 cents to settle at $4.98 to clear the market with 16,441 units, General Accident increased 29 cents to close at $6.99 and finishing, with 9,232  stocks changing hands. Honey Bun lost 26 cents to end at $4.83 while exchanging 140 shares, Indies Pharma carved out a gain of 30 cents to end at $2.80 while trading  5,330 units, Jamaican Teas dropped 4 cents to close at $4.65,  after 189,603 shares changed hands. Lasco Distributors shed 24 cents to end at $3  while exchanging 234,800 units, Lasco Manufacturing climbed 19 cents to $3.80 and crossed the exchange, with 34,147 stocks, Limners and Bards lost 8 cents in closing at $2.66  in trading 120,301 stock units. Lumber Depot shed 3 cents to end at $1.02 with investors swapping 102 shares, Mailpac Group climbed 4 cents to $2.07  trading 170,007 stock units and Main Event dropped 57 cents to settle at $3.40 after exchanging 1,356 units.

Recovery for Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Thursday, with the market rising after more stocks rose than declined as investors traded 24 percent fewer shares with a value that was 31 percent lower than on Wednesday.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 30 on Wednesday and concluded with the prices of 18 stocks rising, nine stocks declining and the prices of four remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index advanced by 18.79 points to settle at 2,539.27, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,285,358 shares for $2,896,174 compared to 1,689,114  units at $4,189,210 on Wednesday.
Lumber Depot led trading with 347,991 shares for 27.1 percent of total volume followed by   Everything Fresh with 237,357 units for 18.5 percent of the day’s trade and Lasco Distributors with 107,689 units for 8.4 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 41,463 units at $93,425 in contrast to 56,304 at $139,640 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 122,004 units at $347,515, in comparison to 128,736 units at $368,689 on Wednesday. Trading in July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727.

Junior Market drops on Wednesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on  Wednesday, declined after more stocks fell than rose, with investors trading 45 percent more shares than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 30 securities changing hands compared to 27  on Tuesday and ended with the prices of eight stocks rising, 15 stocks declining and seven remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index lost 21.63 points to settle at 2,520.48, with the average PE Ratio of the market ending at 10.2 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,689,114 shares for $4,189,210  compared to 3,067,663 units at $10,483,436 on Tuesday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 517,864 shares for 30.7 percent of total volume, followed by Caribbean Producers with 204,759 units for 12.1 percent of the day’s trade and Derrimon Trading with 153,113 units for 9.1 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 56,304 units at $139,640 in contrast to 113,617 at $388,275 on Tuesday. The average trade for the month to date resulted in an exchange of 128,736 units at $368,689, in comparison to 135,090 units at $388,781 on Tuesday. Trading in July resulted in 248,153 units at $668,727 changing hands.

Jetcon Corporation rose 1 cent to end at 81 cents, with 117,493 units passing through the market, Knutsford Express slipped 9 cents to close at $6.81 with an exchange of 300 units, Lasco Distributors gained 18 cents to end at $3.25 with 83,878 units changing hands. Lasco Financial slipped 6 cents to finish at $2.20 with investors transferring 31,094 stock units, Limners and Bards lost 7 cents to close at $2.60, in clearing the market with 139,671 units, Lumber Depot slid 6 cents to end at 98 cents, with an exchange of 31,500 stock units. Mailpac Group advanced 2 cents to settle at $1.98, with 517,864 stock units traded and Medical Disposables lost 1 cent to end at $4.99 with a mere 20 shares crossing the exchange.
