Junior Market moves up over Tuesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Wednesday, with the market rising as more stocks fell than rose after investors traded 10 percent more shares than on Tuesday.
Trading concluded with 34 securities changing hands compared to 31 on Tuesday and ended with the prices of 17 stocks rising, the prices of 12  declining and five with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index advanced by 26.41 points to settle at 2,564.59. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of  2,584,097 shares for $13,160,131 compared to 2,347,642  units at $7,227,746 on Tuesday.
Express Catering led trading with 686,413 shares for 26.6 percent of total volume followed by Caribbean Flavours with 316,756 units for 12.3 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana with 227,636 units for 8.8 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 76,003 units at $387,063 in contrast to 75,730 at $233,153 on Tuesday. The month to date, average trade resulted in an exchange of 111,413 units at $338,882, in comparison to 113,855 units at $335,560 on Tuesday. Trading in  July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727.

At the close of the market, Access Financial lost $3.92 to settle at $20.08 with investors trading 2,828 shares, AMG Packaging gained 15 cents to end at $1.70 with an exchange of 1,500 stock units,  Blue Power slipped 1 cent to $3.06 with 35,984 shares traded. Caribbean Assurance Brokers gained 14 cents to close at $2.05 with 1,500 units changing hands, Caribbean Cream added 2 cents to end at $3.97 with an exchange of 5,789 stock units. Caribbean Flavours dropped $1.01 to finish at  $18.49 in trading 316,756 units, Consolidated Bakeries declined by 9 cents to close at $1.36 with  76,000 stock units crossing the market, Derrimon Trading fell 29 cents to $2.51 with investors switching ownership of 8,050 stocks. Everything Fresh rose 6 cents and traded 2,900 stock units to settle at 71 cents, Express Catering finished 5 cents higher at $4 with 686,413 units passing through the market, Fontana lost 12 cents and exchanged 227,636 units to settle at $4.82. Fosrich slipped 5 cents to close at $3.70, with 2,327 units changing hands, General Accident advanced 5 cents to end at $6.34  with investors transferring 11,000 shares, Honey Bun gained 1 cent to finish at $5.10  with investors switching ownership of 2,285 units. iCreate increased by 2 cents to close at 70 cents with  15,331 stock units traded, Indies Pharma gained 7 cents in the exchange of 74,978 stock units to settle at $2.82, Jamaican Teas fell 4 cents to finish at $4.90  with 43,715 stock units changing hands. Jetcon Corporation closed 2 cents higher at 84 cents in the exchange of 33,751 shares, Lasco  Distributors lost 9 cents to end at$3.15 with investors switching ownership of 63,559 units, Lasco Financial traded 163,583 stock units and fell 7 cents to settle at $2.09. Lasco Manufacturing gained 9 cents to finish at $3.98 with 33,050 shares traded, Limners and Bards traded 133,577 stocks and advanced 23 cents to close at $2.51, Lumber Depot ended 5 cents higher at $1.05 with investors transferring 92,005 stock units.  Mailpac Group exchanged 217,089 stocks and gained 3 cents to settle at $2, Main Event declined by 10 cents to finish at $3.40 with investors switching ownership of  7,198 stock units, Medical Disposables lost 10 cents to end at $5 with 52,970 stock units traded. Stationery and Office Supplies climbed 20 cents to close at $5.80, with investors transferring 142 shares and tTech advanced by 8 cents to settle at $5.49  with 2,948 units crossing the exchange.
In the preference segment, CAC 2000 9.5% fell 17 cents in ending at $1.03 in an exchange of 500 shares.

Junior Market ekes out modest gain

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with the market inching higher, even after more stocks fell than rose as investors traded 31 percent fewer shares at 51 percent less value than on Monday.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 27 on Monday and ended with the prices of 11 stocks rising, the prices of 16 declining and four with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of 10.06 points to settle at 2,538.18. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 2,347,642 shares for $7,227,746  compared to 3,397,455  units at $14,814,214 on Monday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 563,033 shares for 24 percent of total volume followed by iCreate  with 321,388 units for 13.7 percent of the day’s trade and Limners and Bards with 274,649 units for 11.7 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 75,730 units at $233,153 in contrast to 125,832 at  $548,675 on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 113,855 units at   $335,559, in comparison to 116,414 units at $342,431 on Monday. Trading in July resulted in an average trade of 248,153  units at $668,727.

Indies Pharma declined by 5 cents in exchanging 27,770 stock units to close at $2.75, Iron Rock Insurance advanced 40 cents to end at $3.20, in trading 24,000 shares, Jamaican Teas rose 29 cents to close at $4.94 with 154,886 units changing hands. Jetcon Corporation fell 4 cents to settle at 82 cents in an exchange of  48,603 stocks, Lasco  Distributors advanced 24 cents to finish at $3.24 with 70,312 units traded, Lasco Manufacturing gained 9 cents to end at $3.89 with investors transferring 20 units.  Limners and Bards exchanged 274,649 shares and dropped 38 cents to close at $2.28, Lumber Depot slipped 2 cents to $1 with investors switching ownership of 20,000 stock units, Mailpac Group declined by 10 cents to settle at $1.97 with 563,033 units traded. Main Event increased 10 cents to close at $3.50  with investors transferring 6,284 stock units, Stationery and Office Supplies dropped 19 cents to finish at $5.60 in the trading of 124,072 stocks and tTech fell 9 cents to settle at $5.41 with 25,878  shares crossing the exchange.

Junior Market rises on Monday

Shares trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday jumped 179 percent over Friday level after the value of stocks exchanged surged 344 percent, leading to slightly more stocks rising than declining.
Trading ended with 27 securities changing hands compared to 32  on Friday and ended with the prices of 11 stocks rising, the prices of 10  declining and six, with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index increased 20.95 points to settle at 2,528.12, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,397,455 shares for $14,814,214  compared to 1,217,915 units at $3,340,277 on Friday.
Caribbean Assurance Brokers led trading with 1.50 million shares for 44.2 percent of total volume followed by Caribbean Flavours with 500,000 units for 14.7 percent of the day’s trade and Express Catering with 333,854 units for 9.8 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 125,832 units at $548,675 in contrast to 38,060 at $104,384  on Friday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 116,414 units at $342,431,  in comparison to 115,829 units at $329,630 on Friday. Trading in July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727 changing hands.

Honey Bun lost 26 cents to end at $4.83 while exchanging 140 shares, Indies Pharma carved out a gain of 30 cents to end at $2.80 while trading  5,330 units, Jamaican Teas dropped 4 cents to close at $4.65,  after 189,603 shares changed hands. Lasco Distributors shed 24 cents to end at $3  while exchanging 234,800 units, Lasco Manufacturing climbed 19 cents to $3.80 and crossed the exchange, with 34,147 stocks, Limners and Bards lost 8 cents in closing at $2.66  in trading 120,301 stock units. Lumber Depot shed 3 cents to end at $1.02 with investors swapping 102 shares, Mailpac Group climbed 4 cents to $2.07  trading 170,007 stock units and Main Event dropped 57 cents to settle at $3.40 after exchanging 1,356 units.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Friday, after declining, with more stocks falling than rising as investors traded five percent fewer shares but with a 15 percent higher value than on Thursday.
Trading ended with 32 securities changing hands compared to 31  on Thursday and concluded with the prices of 14 stocks rising, the prices of  13  declining and five with prices remaining unchanged. At the close, the Junior Market Index lost 32.10 points to finish the week at 2,507.17. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,217,915 shares for $3,340,277  compared to 1,285,358 units at $2,896,174 on Thursday.
On a day of low volumes, Indies Pharma led trading with 350,453 shares for 29 percent of total volume, followed by Mailpac Group with 293,441 units for 24 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana with 94,240 units for 7.7 percent market share.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on  Wednesday, declined after more stocks fell than rose, with investors trading 45 percent more shares than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 30 securities changing hands compared to 27  on Tuesday and ended with the prices of eight stocks rising, 15 stocks declining and seven remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index lost 21.63 points to settle at 2,520.48, with the average PE Ratio of the market ending at 10.2 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

General Accident carved out a loss 70 cents and ended at $6.50 with investors switching ownership of 505,006 units, GWest Corporation added 5 cents to close at 75 cents, trading of 2,000 units, Honey Bun carved out a loss 15 cents to close at $4.95, with 22,900  shares changing hands. iCreate rose 3 cents to close at 68 cents, with 610,064 stock units passing through the market, Iron Rock Insurance lost 40 cents to end at $3 in exchanging 800 units, Jamaican Teas gained 15 cents to end at $4.65 while exchanging 78,695 stock units. Jetcon Corporation dropped by 9 cents to settle at 89 cents in trading 91,736 stocks, Lasco Distributors dropped 34 cents to close at $3 while exchanging 1,527,013 stock units, Lasco Manufacturing lost 2 cents to close at $3.97 in clearing the market with 17,315 shares. Lumber Depot dipped by 1 cent to end at $1.04 in an exchange of 131,521 stocks, Mailpac Group lost 6 cents to finish at   $2.02, with 438,799 units crossing the exchange, Main Event dropped 49 cents to settle at $3.50, with 21,720 units changing hands. Junior Market just hangs on to gains

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange just helped on to a modest gain at closed on Friday, with the market inching higher after an almost equal number of stocks rose and declined after a small eight percent more shares changed hands than on Thursday.
Trading ended with 27 securities changing hands compared to 31 on  Thursday and ended with the prices of eight stocks rising, the prices of nine declining and ten with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 4.85 points to end at 2,599.86, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.5 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,470,609 units at $14,092,682 compared to 3,221,829 units at $8,756,559 on Thursday.
Jamaican Teas led trading with 1.96 million shares for 56.4 percent of total volume, followed by Mailpac Group with 719,506 units for 20.7 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana with 183,647 units for 5.3 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 128,541 units at $521,951 in contrast to  103,930 at $282,470  on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 136,446 shares at  $382,221, in comparison to 137,315 units at $373,348 on Thursday. Trading to date compares adversely to July, with an average of 248,153 units at $668,727.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the market shows six stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
At the close of the market, AMG Packaging advanced 16 cents to end at $1.70, in exchanging 5,750 shares, Blue Power increased 5 cents to settle at $3.40, with 15,000 stock units crossing the exchange, Caribbean Assurance Brokers gained 7 cents in closing at $2.04 trading 11,000 units. Caribbean Producers carved out a loss 5 cents to close at $2.45, with 10,150 stocks crossing the market, Elite Diagnostic shed 2 cents to end at $3.15 with investors switching ownership of 45,705 stock units, Fontana lost 7 cents to end at $4.99 with an exchange of 183,647 shares. General Accident dropped 15 cents to end at $7.20 in exchanging 11,944 stocks, iCreate lost 3 cents to settle at 65 cents in an exchange of 83,321 stock units, ISP Finance fell 41 cents to settle at $14.59, with ten shares changing hands, Jamaican Teas dropped by 50 cents to settle at $4.50 in trading 1,956,594 stock units. Lasco Distributors carved out a loss of 6 cents in closing at $3.34 and exchanging 20,587 stock units, Lasco Manufacturing added 9 cents in closing at $3.99 in trading 26,000 stocks, Limners and Bards gained 9 cents to finish at $2.80 with an exchange of 6,853 shares. Lumber Depot increased 2 cents in closing at $1.05 and trading 2,100 units. Medical Disposables rose 9 cents to $5, with 5,387 stock units crossing the exchange, SSL Venture carved out an increase of 11 cents to close at 86 cents, with an exchange of 1,500 units and Stationery and Office Supplies lost 20 cents to close at $5.60 in trading 44,707 shares.

Big Junior Market drop

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Thursday, with the market dropping after more than twice the number of stocks fell than rose after trading 70 percent more shares than on Wednesday.
Trading on Thursday ended with a similar number of securities changing hands as Wednesday with market activity resulted in 31 securities changing hands, with the prices of eight stocks rising, 17 declining and six, with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index declined by 49.55 points to settle at 2,595.01 and the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,221,829 shares for $8,756,559 compared to 1,895,699 units at $7,143,931 on Wednesday. Mailpac Group led trading with 1.02 million shares for 31.6 percent of total volume, followed by Derrimon Trading with 330,000 units for 10.2 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana with 252,307 units for 7.8 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 103,930 units at $282,470 in contrast to 61,152 at $230,449 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 137,286 units at $373,348, in comparison to 141,923 units at $385,982 on Tuesday. Trading in July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727 trading.

Fontana climbed 5 cents to close at $5.06 with investors swapping 252,307 units, General Accident carved out a loss 14 cents to end at $7.35 while exchanging 3,465 stocks, GWest Corporation lost 19 cents to settle at 70 cents, after 93,643 units crossed the exchange. Honey Bun declined by 23 cents to $5.10 with investors switching ownership of 5,302 shares, iCreate gained 5 cents in closing at 68 cents with 198,879 stock units changing hands, Indies Pharma declined by 10 cents to $2.80, with 129,500 stocks clearing the market. Jamaican Teas lost 2 cents to settle at $5 in exchanging 247,818 stock units, Jetcon Corporation declined by 2 cents to 98 cents in trading 61,870 shares, Lasco Distributors advanced by 19 cents to $3.40, with 93,492 stock units changing hands.  Lasco Manufacturing carved out a gain of 13 cents to end at $3.90 trading 13,717 stock units,  Limners and Bards shed 8 cents to close at $2.71 after 116,115 stock units crossed the market, Lumber Depot lost 1 cent to settle at $1.03 with an exchange of 130,838  stock units. Mailpac Group lost 2 cents in ending at $2.08 finishing at 1,018,454  units, Main Event carved out a gain of 3 cents to end at $3.99 in exchanging 800 stocks, Medical Disposables declined by 2 cents to close at $4.91, with 12,100 stocks changing hands and Paramount Trading carved out a gain of 4 cents to end at $1.79 in an exchange of 10,700 shares.

Junior Market ends with sharp climb

Advancing and declining Junior Market stocks were evenly matched at the close of trading on Wednesday, after an exchange of 82 percent fewer stocks than Tuesday’s heightened level.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 33 on Tuesday and ended with the prices of 12 stocks rising, the prices of 13 stocks declining and six ended, with the prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 41.15 points to settle at 2,644.56 and the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.6 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,895,699 shares for $7,143,931, compared to 10,650,793 units at $25,292,615 on Tuesday. Mailpac Group led trading with 446,158 shares for 23.5 percent of total volume, followed by Lumber Depot with 308,194 units for 16.3 percent of the day’s trade and Lasco Manufacturing with 178,175 units for 9.4 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 61,152 units at $230,449, in contrast to  322,751 at $766,443 on Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in 141,956 units exchanged at $385,982, in comparison to 154,964 units at $411,094 on Monday. Trading in July resulted in an average of 248,153 units trading at $668,727 for each security.

Derrimon Trading declined by 30 cents to settle at $2.70 with 70,079 shares changing hands, Elite Diagnostic carved out a gain of 45 cents in finishing at $3.65, while trading 5,000 shares. Express Catering climbed 45 cents to settle at $3.90, with 740 shares changing hands, Fontana shed 1 cent to end at $5.01 and clearing the market with 89,132 units, Fosrich advanced 20 cents and closed at $3.90 in exchanging 500 stocks. General Accident fell 1 cent in ending at $7.49, with 77,647 stocks passing through the market, iCreate gained 1 cent to settle at 63 cents trading 9,600 stock units, Indies Pharma dropped by 5 cents to end at  $2.90 in exchanging 47,138 units. Jamaican Teas carved out a gain of 2 cents in closing at $5.02 and exchanging 100,297 shares, Knutsford Express increased 5 cents to close at $6.90 in trading 28,804 stocks.
Lasco Distributors climbed 1 cent and closed at $3.21, with 166,500 stock units changing hands. Lasco Manufacturing lost 13 cents to settle at $3.77 in trading 178,175 stock nits, Limners and Bards  slipped 11 cents to $2.79 after 9,680 stock units passed through the market, Lumber Depot gained 3 cents to end at $1.04, with 308,194 shares clearing the market. Mailpac Group fell 5 cents to close at $2.10,  with 446,158 stock units crossing the market, Medical Disposables lost 7 cents to finish at $4.93 with 205 stock units changing hands, SSL Venture lost 3 cents to end at 75 cents finishing with an exchange of  12,412 stock units and tTech declined by $1.20 to close at $4.75 in exchanging 28,090 stock units.
In the preference shares segment, Derrimon Trading preference shares rose 20 cents to close at $2 in an exchange of 5,000 stock units.
