Fresh from closing for the public holiday on Monday, trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange saw a major push in the main indices as big capitalized companies enjoyed healthy gains on Tuesday, with just 8 securities trading.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator is not confirming a turn around in the market just yet as it ended with 6 stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and 9 with offers that were lower, including Republic Holdings and National Enterprises with lower offers than the last selling price.
Gains| First Citizens Bank price jumped $2.50 in trading 11,721 shares valued at $382,328 to close at $33.50, Massy Holdings leapt 10 percent with a gain of $4.99 to close at $55 with 6,479 shares with a value of $356,281, changing hands. Scotiabank jumped 85 cents to $53.85 as 3,004 shares were traded and Clico Investments ended with 22,400 shares carrying a value of $507.360 changing hands and gained 5 cents to close at $22.65. JMMB Group traded 286,213 shares and gained just 1 cent to close at 60 cents
The market closed on Tuesday with, 5 securities gaining, 2 declining stock, while 1 remained unchanged, as 335,562 shares valued at $1,633,062 changed hands.
The Composite Index advanced by 10.96 points or to close at 1,126.29, TTSE 21-06-16 the All T&T Index rose 21.78 points or 1.24 percent to close at 1,783.72 and the Cross Listed Index remained at 62.36.
Losses| Point Lisas closed at a 52 weeks’ low, with 100 shares trading to close at $3.69 after losing just 1 cent and Sagicor Financial Corporation traded 2,980 shares to end at $7.15 after falling 2 cents.
Firm Trades| Guardian Holdings closed at $12.80 with 2,665 shares changing hands.
