Junior Market slips back on Tuesday

The Junior Market index of the Jamaica Stock Exchange dropped 19.89 points to 3,169.67 at the end of trading on Tuesday, as the prices of 7 securities rose, 9 declined and 11 remained unchanged.
Trading ended with 27 securities changing hands on Tuesday, compared to 21 securities changing hands on Monday, resulting in an exchange of 2,965,697 units valued at $11,127,007, compared to 3,820,986 units valued at $12,854,001, on Monday. Fontana continues to trade in large volumes and ending the day just under 2.1 million units.
Trading ended with an average of 109,841 units for an average of $412,111 in contrast to 181,952 units for an average of $612,095 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date, amount to 103,436 shares valued $371,012 and previously 99,833 shares valued at $347,894. In contrast, the average trade in January was 2,245,428 units with a value of $7,372,574 for each security traded.

At the close of the day’s activities, Access Financial closed 1 cent higher at $47.01, with an exchange of 1,127 shares, AMG Packaging ended at $2.60, with 31,356 stock units changing hands, Blue Power concluded trading with 100 units with a rise of $1 to close at $6. CAC 2000 finished with a loss of $2.02 at $13, in trading 1,081 shares, Cargo Handlers settled 10 cents higher at $15, in exchanging 1,390 shares, Caribbean Cream ended trading 6,193 shares and rose 60 cents higher to $5.95, Caribbean Producers finished trading 203,515 units with a loss of 3 cents to close at $4.75. Derrimon Trading ended at $2.95, with an exchange of 27,046 shares, Elite Diagnostic finished trading 44,913 stock units at $3.10, Express Catering settled with a loss of 1 cent at $7.94, trading 12,850 units, Fontana closed trading at $3.50 with 2,096,413 shares changing hands. FosRich Group ended trading 35,854 shares, with a loss of 12 cents to end at $3.76, General Accident traded 183,534 shares at $4, GWest Corporation finished trading at $1.45, with 62,248 shares changing hands. Honey Bun closed with a loss of 15 cents at $3.75, with an exchange of 8,100 stock units, Indies Pharma closed at $3.05 trading 104,845 shares. Iron Rock ended 50 cents higher at $5, with 7,000 units trading, Jamaican Teas  exchanged 100 shares at $4, Knutsford Express finished trading of 40,878 shares at $12.70,  Lasco Distributors  closed 11 cents higher at $4, in trading 11,886 shares. Lasco Financial  ended 10 cents higher at $4.60, with 3,196 shares traded, Lasco Manufacturing concluded trading of 23,455 stock units, with a loss of 17 cents to end at $3.23, Main Event dropped 88 cents to close at $5.62, in exchanging 9,541 units. Paramount Trading ended trading with a loss of 15 cents at $2.05, with 27,433 shares and Stationery and Office traded 10,643 shares with a loss of 20 cents at $8.40. In the Junior Market preference segment, CAC 2000 closed trading at $1, with 1,000 shares changing hands.
