Thee Jamaica Stock Exchange suffered sharp declines on Wednesday but has made a big reversal in the early morning session of trading on Thursday morning.
Market activity has been moderate resulting in of 34 securities traded at 11:15 am, compared to 22 on Wednesday at 10:45 am. 13 stocks advanced and 8 declined, resulting in a volume of 914,337 shares changing hands carrying a value of $10,866,734, compared 5,696,036 shares changing hands carrying a value of $12,516,863. The average number of shares traded, amount to 26,892 units versus mere 258,911 units on Wednesday.
The all Jamaica Composite Index rose 544.89 points to 201,157.03 the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index dipped 487.23 points to 184,175.28, the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index gained 965.44 points to close at 196,239.24 and the junior market index jumped 49.97 points to end at 2,476.15.
The all Jamaica Index gained more than 1,000 points prior to the cut off of this report before it pulled back to the lower level.
