AJI at record close of 561,755 – Thursday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange All Jamaican Composite Index ended at another record close on Thursday, the 35th record close for the year, as the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index surged 7,402.24 points to close at 561,755.34.
The JSE Index jumped 6,726.38 points to close at 511,476.82 and the JSE Financial Index rose 1.43 points in closing at 135.37.
Market activity, resulted in 38 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to 18 securities advancing, 11 declining and 9 trading firm, compared to 36 securities trading on Wednesday.  Trading ended with 25,023,082 units valued at $337,036,565 compared to 22,775,778 units valued at $1,289,797,014 changing hands on Wednesday.
Wigton Windfarm dominated trading with 18.64 million shares for 75 percent of total main market volume, Scotia Group followed with 2 million units for 8 percent of total volume and Wisynco Group with 642,312 shares for 2.6 percent of the day’s volume. NCB Financial traded at a record of $228.99 during the day with 634,727 units changing hands to close $220.
The market closed with an average of 695,086 units at $9,362,127 for each security traded, in contrast to 690,175 units for an average of $39,084,758 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 1,135,212 shares valued at $14,514,099 changing hands, compared to 1,160,203 shares valued at $14,821,170 for each security traded. June closed with an average of 1,608,485 units valued at $19,605,318 for each security traded.

In the main market activity, Barita Investments gained $6.40 to end at $82.40 trading 17,858 stock units trading, Berger Paints declined 76 cents in trading of 2,274 units at $ 17.95, Eppley closed trading of 7,231 units and gained 50 cents to end at $17, Jamaica Producers fell 50 cents in trading of 5,743 units at $28. Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 259,481 shares to close at $35.01, after falling $4.49, Kingston Properties ended trading with 13,100 shares, after rising 25 cents to end at $5.75, Mayberry Jamaican Equities climbed 50 cents in exchanging 8,932 shares to close at $12.50. Portland JSX climbed 40 cents in exchanging 3,940 shares at $8, at $ 8, Proven Investments jumped $3.90 to $40, in trading 1,000 shares, Salada Foods climbed $5 to settle at $38 with 1,437 shares changing hands, Sagicor Real Fund closed trading of 33,134 units and gained 38 cents to end at $11. Sygnus Credit Investments closed trading of 59,223 units and gained 50 cents to end at record high of $16.50, Seprod lost 50 cents in trading 19,570 units to close at $49, Scotia Group declined 25 cents in trading of 2,028,890 units at $55.50 and Wisynco Group gained $2 to end at record closing high of $28, trading 642,312 shares after it traded at a record high of $29.88..
Trading in the US securities market resulted in 5,610 units valued $10,826 changing hands. Market activity ended with JMMB Group 5.75% preference share traded 5,200 units at $2. followed by JMMB Group 6% preference share exchanged 410 units at $1.04.
The JSE USD Equities Index closed unchanged at 187.01 points.
