Winners crush losers on T&T Exchange


CIBC Caribbean Bank finished as the volume leader with 67 percent stocks traded on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, with the volume and value of stocks traded surging 235 percent and 189 percent respectively, over Thursday. The market closed with an exchange of 24 securities, up from 19 on Thursday and ended with prices of ten rising, six declining and eight ending firm.

The market closed with trading of 445,301 shares for $4,965,030 after an increase from 133,001 stocks at $1,719,041 on Thursday.
An average of 18,554 shares were exchanged for $206,876, up from 7,000 units at $90,476 on Thursday. Trading month to date ended with an average of 17,807 shares worth $141,098, modestly higher than the 17,685 units at $130,360 on the previous day and an average for June of 14,083 shares at $118,753.
The Composite Index rallied 1.11 points to 999.35, the All T&T Index climbed 2.14 points to settle at 1,444.13, the SME Index remained at 79.13 and the Cross-Listed Index ended at 73.24.

At the close of trading, Agostini fell 40 cents to $58 with 18 shares crossing the market, Angostura Holdings remained at $10.80 with an exchange of 214 units. Ansa McAl rose $2 in closing at $47 with one stock clearing the market, AS Bryden ended at $1.40 in switching ownership of 2,215 shares, CIBC Caribbean Bank remained at $7.60 after trading of 300,163 stocks. Endeavour Holdings skidded $1 to end at $14 with 8 stocks changing hands, Eric Solis Marketing closd at $4 after an exchange of 9 stocks, First Citizens Group gained 75 cents to end at $40 with 25,347 shares crossing the market. GraceKennedy rose 4 cents in closing at $3.69 in an exchange of 37 stocks, Guardian Holdings lost 30 cents to end at $16.45 with 21 units passing through the market, JMMB Group remained at 78 cents with 234 stock units crossing the exchange. Massy Holdings ended at $3.60 with a transfer of 30,106 shares, National Enterprises climbed 4 cents to finish at $4.75 with investors swapping 1,243 stocks, National Flour Mills slipped 18 cents and ended at $1.57 after a transfer of 186 units. NCB Financial increased 36 cents to end at $3.16 with investors trading 8 stock units, One Caribbean Media advanced 10 cents in closing at a 52 week high of $2.30 in an exchange of 7,480 shares, Point Lisas declined 10 cents to close at $7 with a transfer of 600 stock units. Prestige Holdings rose $1 to $12 after investors exchanged 46 shares, Republic Financial remained at $108.25 in trading 833 stocks, Scotiabank ended at $45.50 following trading of 20,196 shares. Trinidad & Tobago NGL rallied 14 cents to close at $10.15 with investors dealing in 5,923 units, Trinidad Cement shed 9 cents to end at $1.80 with 21,500 stocks crossing the market, Unilever Caribbean increased 56 cents to finish at $15.47 in an exchange of 27,813 stock units and West Indian Tobacco climbed 1 cent to $3.90 with investors trading 1,100 shares.
