Trading volume and value surged on The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday from fewer securities changing hands than on Thursday, resulting in advancing stocks outnumbering decliners.
Trading ended, with three stocks rising, two declining while six closed unchanged, with one stock ending at a 52 weeks’ high. The Composite Index rose 0.63 points to 1,489.10. The All T&T Index gained 4.46 points to 1,899.89, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.44 points to close at 146.06.
The number of securities trading on Friday ended at 11, resulting in an exchange of 652,572, with a value of $19,244,633, compared to 305,514 at $2,609,219, from 17 trading securities on Thursday.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
Gains| Endeavour Holdings traded 5,020 shares and gained 11 cents to close at a new high of $12.65, Scotiabank gained $1 and settled at $61, with 58,468 units changing hands and West Indian Tobacco rose 20 cents and concluded trading with 130,039 units at $41.20.

The number of securities trading on Thursday slipped to 17, resulting in an exchange of 305,514, with a value of $2,609,219, compared to 67,094 shares for $1,662,903, from 21 trading securities on Wednesday.

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange bounced sharply at the close of trading on Wednesday as three stocks recorded significant upward price movements to continue its mild bullish trend since late 2019.  
Trading ended, with four stocks rising, four declining while 13 closed unchanged, with two stocks ending at 52 weeks’ high. The Composite Index jumped 15.06 points to 1,489.98. The All T&T Index surged 25.40 points to 1,898.11, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.62 points to close at 146.54.
The number of securities trading on Wednesday surged to 21, resulting in an exchange of just 67,094 shares for $1,662,903, compared to 385,720 units amounting to $1,884,774, from 15 trading securities on Tuesday.

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange bounced at the close trading on Tuesday to continue its mild bullish trend since late 2019 but with an equal number of rising and declining stocks.

TTSE stocks gain 9.6% for 2019

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed 2019 with gains for the three leading indices with the All T&T Index gaining nearly 10 percent for the year and reversing five consecutive years’ of decline.
At the close of trading on Tuesday, the Composite Index lost 10.11 points to end at 1,468.41, on the last day of the year but gained 12.73 percent for 2019. The All T&T Index rose 3.67 points, but ended the year up 9.61 percent for the year at 1,868.97, while the Cross Listed Index declined 3.28 points to close at 144.65 and end out the year with a rise of 19 percent. The Small and Medium Enterprise index dropped over 32 percent for the year at 67.76 points.
