The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market Index eked out a minor gain of 4.01 points to 3,352.17 after trading closed on Wednesday after a near 47 points fall on Tuesday.
Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange settled on Wednesday resulting in an exchange of 2,463,223 units valued at $8,312,204 compared to 3,394,559 units valued at $18,938,756 on Tuesday.
At the close of market activities, 28 securities changing hands, down from 31 on Tuesday, with the prices of 9 securities advancing, 11 declining and 8 remained unchanged. Trading ended with an average of 87,972 units for $296,864 for each security traded in contrast to 109,502 units for an average of $610,928 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to units 98,564 valued at $480,309 and previously 99,232 units for an average of $491,877. In contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.

Big drop for Junior Market index – Tuesday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market Index dropped 49.65 points to 3,348.16 after trading resumed on Tuesday after the heroes’ holiday break on Monday.
At the close of market activities, 31 securities changed hands, the same number that traded on Friday and closed with the prices of 8 securities rising, 13 declining while 10 remained unchanged.
Trading closed on Tuesday with an exchange of 3,394,559 units valued at $18,938,756 compared to 808,904 units valued at $3,245,147 on Friday.
Trading ended with an average of 109,502 units for an average of $610,928 in contrast to 26,094 units for an average of $104,682 on Friday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 99,232 units for an average of $491,877 and previously 120,361 units valued at $482,941 for each security traded. The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange dropped 15.61 points to close at 3,397.71 in trading on Wednesday as 29 securities traded, similar to Tuesday and ended with 10 securities advancing, 9 falling and 10 remaining unchanged.
Market activities, resulted in an exchange of 3,632,177 units valued at $18,080,990 compared to 2,395,994 units valued at $16,463,282 changing hands on Tuesday.
Trading ended with an average of 125,247 units for an average of $623,482 in contrast to 85,571 units for an average of $587,974 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 91,863 units at $461,599 compared to 86,454 units at $435,372 previously, in contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.
