Volume rise market index drops

Market activity ended on Thursday with the volume of shares trading 43 percent higher and the value of stocks 110 percent more than on Wednesday at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market, but the market indices dropped even as rising stocks exceeded those declining.
The All Jamaican Composite Index dropped 1,775.99 points to settle at 443,279.16 after the market opened at just over 445,891, the JSE Main Index shed 1,470.55 points to 401,600.62 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.68 points to end at 97.47.

Across the board fall for JSE US$ stocks

Trading dived sharply on Thursday, with investors exchanging 93 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday, with 97 pompared to six on Wednesday, trading ended with seven securities changing hands, with one rising and six declining.
The JSE US Denominated Equities Index lost 2.16 points to end at 194.93.

Proven drives JSE USD market trading – Wednesday

Proven Investment ended trading as the standout stock, having exchanged the most shares for the day after it ended with an exchange of 1,018,190 shares on the US dollar market on Wednesday, as the trade pushed the overall volume exchanged up 827 percent higher than on Tuesday after 3,652 percent more funds, came into the market and resulted in rising stocks outnumbered declining ones.
Six securities traded on Wednesday compared to five on Tuesday, with prices of three rising, one declining and two ending unchanged.
The JSE US Denominated Equities Index rose 4.66 points to 197.09. Trading dips on Trinidad exchange

Market activity ended on Wednesday with more stocks rising than falling, after trading 69 percent fewer shares, with 80 percent lower value than on Tuesday, at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
Overall, 16 securities traded, down from 17 on Tuesday, with three rising, one declining and 12 remaining unchanged. The Composite Index gained 4.62 points to close at 1,431.79, the All T&T Index popped 9.14 points to 1,944.64 and the Cross-Listed Index lost 0.03 points to settle at 123.75.
A total of 35,457 shares traded for $373,845 compared to 115,767 units at $1,845,111 on Tuesday. An average of 2,216 units traded at $23,365 compared to 6,810 at $108,536 on Tuesday, with the month to date averaging, 3,628 units at  55,256 compared to 4,334 units at $71,201. Market activity closed off the first trading day of new month, with the number of shares trading declining 17 percent and the value down 31 percent from Friday out-turn at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Monday.
Trading ended with 52 securities compared to 47 on Friday, with 23 rising, 20 declining and nine ending unchanged. Trinidad stocks rally into November

Market activity on Monday resulted in more stocks rising than falling at the close of trading after trading volume plunged 71 percent and the value dropped 74 percent from Friday trading at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
Overall, 15 securities traded down from 17 on Friday, with six stocks rising, three declining and six remaining unchanged. The Composite Index climbed 7.77 points to 1,431.11, the All T&T Index rallied 4.12 points to 1,942.63 and the Cross-Listed Index popped 1.64 points to settle at 123.86.
Just 22,914 shares traded for $433,325 compared to 78,324 units at $1,687,781 on Friday. An average of 1,528 unit  traded at $28,888 down from 4,607 at $99,281 on Friday. The average trade for October amounts to 23,649 units at $227589.

Main Market down 9,000 points in October

Market activity ended on Friday with the market indices rising for the day but falling sharply for October and ended, with the volume of shares trading increasing 113 percent and the value 69 percent higher than on Thursday at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market, with rising stocks equaling those declining.

At the close, Barita Investments shed 94 cents in ending at $94 after exchanging 54,076 shares, Caribbean Cement advanced $2 to close at $114 in trading 27,218 units, Caribbean Producers dipped 50 cents to $8 with 421,119 stock units crossing the market. Eppley Caribbean Property Fund advanced $3.91 to $40.41 in switching ownership of 121 stocks, First Rock Capital lost 40 cents to end at $12 after 8,769 shares cleared the market, Jamaica Broilers rallied $1.50 to $31 in an exchange of 138,346 units. Jamaica Producers declined $1.84 to finish at $22.15 with the swapping of 5,682 stocks units, Jamaica Stock Exchange rose 75 cents to $18.25 in exchanging 4,910 stock units, JMMB Group spiked 50 cents to end at $38 with a transfer of 302,245 shares. Kingston Wharves fell $2.50 to $45 with an exchange of 1,051 stock units, Mayberry Investments gained 50 cents in closing at $6 with 23,579,556 shares crossing the market, Mayberry Jamaican Equities popped 43 cents to close at $9 after a transfer of 1,110,000 stocks. NCB Financial fell $4.85 to $125.15 after exchanging 11,556 shares, PanJam Investment rose 75 cents to $64.50 in trading 13,075 stocks, Radio Jamaica gained 48 cents to end at $3.79 with the swapping of 338,676 stock units. Sagicor Group advanced $4.01 in closing at $58 in switching ownership of 649,260 units, Sygnus Credit Investments shed 49 cents to $17.80 in trading 215,266 stock units and Wisynco Group spiked 64 cents to $16.50 after 83,769 units crossed the market.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group 7.15% – due 2028, lost 35 cents to end at $3 in an exchange of 10,000 stocks.
