Junior Market fails to break 2,900 points mark

Trading closed on Monday, with the market just eking out a meagre rise with an almost number of stocks rising as declining, with the volume stocks traded jumping 251 percent and the value surging 200 percent higher than on Friday on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
Trading ended with 37 securities changing hands up from 34 on Friday and closed with 14 stocks rising, 15 declining and eight remaining unchanged.
The Market Index inched 2.12 points higher to 2,899.45 as the market continues to struggle to break away from the 2,900 points barrier. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.5 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading accounted for 19,450,213 shares at $50,663,938 up from 5,541,055 units at $16,892,321 on Friday. Derrimon Trading led with 67.6 percent of total volume for an exchange of 13.15 million shares, followed by Stationery and Office Supplies with 6.7 percent for 1.30 million units, Lumber Depot chipped in with 5.4 percent of the day’s trade for 1.06 million units and Tropical Battery 5.3 percent with1.03 million units changing hands.
Trading averaged 525,681 units at $1,369,296 up from 162,972 at $496,833 on Friday. Trading month to date averaged 267,918 units at $742,771, compared to 215,515 units at $615,400 on Friday. February closed with an average of 365,365 units at $881,118.

At the close of the market, Blue Power rose 40 cents to $3.50 in exchanging 114,763 shares, following posting of rising profit for the February quarter. CAC 2000 advanced 40 cents to $9.90 after trading 1,000 units, Cargo Handlers climbed $1.30 to $8.50, with the exchanging of 137 stocks. Caribbean Cream gained 25 cents to end at $4.90 in an exchange of 4,874 shares, Caribbean Producers shed 23 cents to $3.06, with 40,496 stocks crossing the market, Fontana lost 5 cents to end at $5.75, with 59,003 stock units changing hands. Fosrich picked up 8 cents to settle at $5.15 trading 23,330 stocks, GWest Corporation lost 6 cents at 83 cents in exchanging 45,217 shares. Honey Bun finished 8 cents lower at $5.02, with a transfer of 17,120 units, Indies Pharma rose 27 cents to $3.45 after an exchange of 75,927 stocks. Gains for Junior market

Trading closed on Friday, with the market index rising but with the volume traded falling 47 percent and values 41 percent lower than on Thursday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market.
The Market Index rose 24.73 points to 2,897.33 for a gain of 9.6 percent for the year to date. Similar to Thursday, 34 securities changed hands, with 19 rising, 12 declining and three remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 5,541,055 shares for $16,892,321 down from 10,531,327 units at $28,812,102 on Thursday. Jamaican Teas led trading with 22 percent of total volume for an exchange of 1.22 million shares, followed by Mailpac Group with 17.3 percent for 956,880 units and Caribbean Flavours with 11.8 percent for 656,369 shares.

Momentum slips for Junior Market

The momentum gained Wednesday was partially lost at the close of trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Thursday, with the market index declining 14.73 points to 2,872.60 after the volume changing hands grew by 90 percent, with 83 percent more money chased stocks over Wednesday’s levels.
Securities trading, totalled 34 compared to 38 on Wednesday, with prices of 13 rising, 13 declining and eight remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Traders exchanged 10,531,327 shares for $28,812,102 up from 5,551,072 units at $15,784,558 on Wednesday.
Derrimon Trading led the day with 50.9 percent of total volume with a transfer of 5.37 million shares, followed by Jamaican Teas 15.3 percent with 1.61 million units and Caribbean Flavours with 8.5 percent after trading 897,013 units.

Stocks rebounded sharply in trading on Wednesday, wiping out 72 percent of Tuesday’s big loss in the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market index putting it in close touch of the 2,900 points level again.
Trading ended with 38 securities changing hands down from 40 on Tuesday with the prices of 15 stocks rising, 15 declining and eight closing unchanged.
The Junior Market Index jumped 34.13 points to 2,887.33. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 37 percent fewer shares at 45 percent less value than on Tuesday, resulting from trading of 5,551,072 shares for $15,784,558, down from 8,845,580 units at $27,670,299 on Tuesday.
Jamaican Teas led trading with 20.7 percent of total volume of 1.15 million shares, followed by Derrimon Trading with 20.2 percent, with a transfer of 1.12 million units and Mailpac Group with 14.1 of the day’s trade for 782,591 units.

Junior Market stocks gain 10.5%

The volume of stocks trading on Friday surged 785 percent and the value climbed 45 percent higher than on Thursday, but the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market, just squeezed out a modest rise at the close on Friday, as the market closed out February five percent higher than January and 10.5 percent higher than December last year. 
Trading ended with 37 securities changing hands compared to 41 on Thursday, with 17 stocks rising, 11 declining and nine ending unchanged. The market closed with Everything Fresh, Fosrich and  iCreate, ending at 52 weeks’ highs.
At the close, the Market Index inched 0.87 points higher to 2,920.35, the highest point since February 27 last year. The average PE Ratio ends at 15.7 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

Stocks inched to a new one year high of 2,919.48, after adding just 1.25 points as the volume and value of the day’s trade on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday were slashed by 56 and 53 percent, respectively, compared to Wednesday.

Trading picked dropped sharply on Wednesday, leading to a 50 percent fall in the volume of stocks passing through the exchange worth 58 percent less than Tuesday’s trades on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, but the market continued its advance to the highest level since it closed at 2,922.18 on February 27, last year.
The Junior Market Index rose 10.75 points to close at 2,918.23 to be up 10.4 percent for the year to date. Early in the morning session, the index hit a 2,949.48 points level that is higher than the close on February 21, last year.
Trading ended with 39 securities down from 41 on Tuesday, with 18 rising, 13 declining and eight remaining unchanged.
The average PE Ratio ends at 15.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors traded 6,761,477 shares for $17,884,137 compared to 13,487,893 units at $42,784,456 on Tuesday.
Derrimon Trading led the market with 16.8 percent of total volume with 1.14 million shares, followed by Tropical Battery with 13.1 percent or 886,995 units and Caribbean Flavours with 11 percent and 741,946 stock units.
Trading averaged 173,371 units at $458,568 in contrast to 328,973 at $1,043,523 on Tuesday. Trading month to date averages 363,591 units at $903,906, down from 376,123 units at $933,244 on Tuesday. January closed with an average of 232,651 units at $569,885.

At the close, Access Financial shed $2.50 to end at $21 with an exchange of 4,599 stock units, AMG Packaging rose 17 cents to $1.80 with 11,341 stocks changing hands, Caribbean Cream rose 5 cents to $4.70 with 4,485 shares passing through the market. Caribbean Flavours rose 5 cents to $2, trading 741,946 units, Caribbean Producers dropped 47 cents to $3.53 with a transfer of 232,034 stocks, Express Catering fell 12 cents to $3.50 with investors switching ownership of 47,207 stock units. Fontana gained 7 cents to close at $6.07 with an exchange of 310,702 units, Fosrich rose 10 cents to $4.30 with 60,214 shares changing hands, General Accident slipped 5 cents to $5.50 with 31,100 shares passing through the market. iCreate advanced 16 cents to 81 cents with 691,952 shares traded, Indies Pharma dropped 15 cents to $3.25 with a transfer of 538,426 stocks, Iron Rock Insurance declined 5 cents to $3.70 with an exchange of 624 units. ISP Finance jumped $3.30 to $25.30 with 59 shares changing hands, KLE Group gained 7 cents to close at $1.40 with 3,345 shares passing through the market, Knutsford Express shed 62 cents to $6.18 trading 3,500 stocks. Lasco Distributors climbed 22 cents to $3.87 with a transfer of 136,000 shares, Lasco Financial rose 10 cents to $2.60 with an exchange of 19,750 units, Lasco Manufacturing fell 12 cents to $4.26 with 282,351 units changing hands. Mailpac Group gained 13 cents to finish at $3.62 with 480,450 stock units passing through the market, Main Event fell 27 cents to $3.30, trading 9 shares, Stationery and Office Supplies increased by 18 cents to settle at $4.53 with a transfer of 300 stock units and tTech advanced 20 cents to close at $4.90 with 4,201 shares crossing the exchange.

Caribbean Producers surprise gains

In another surprising move, Caribbean Producers traded 8,622,338 shares after jumping 80 cents to close at $4, on Tuesday the highest closing price since March last year and helping to send the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange market index to the highest levels since the end of February last year when it closed then at 2,911.92 points.

Caribbean Producers traded 8.6 million shares on Tuesday.

Trading ended with 41 securities changing hands, up from 40 on Monday and closed with the prices of 18 stocks rising, 13 declining and 10 remaining unchanged.
The Junior Market Index climbed 35.59 points to close at 2,907.48, up 10 percent for the year to date. The average PE Ratio ended at 15.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading levels rebounded with a 123 percent rise in the volume over Monday with 13,487,893 shares for and values 140 percent higher than on Monday jump in the value to $42,784,456, up from 6,033,662 units at $17,830,831 on Monday. Caribbean Producers led trading with 63.9 percent of total volume, after 8.62 million shares changed hands, followed by Derrimon Trading 8.7 percent with 1.17 million units and Mailpac Group with 4.9 percent for 665,514 units.
Trading averaged 328,973 units at $1,043,523 well upon 150,842 at $445,771 on Monday. The month to date averaged 376,123 units at $933,244, close to the 379,631 units at $925,038 on Monday. Trading in January averaged 232,651 units at $569,885.

Express Catering rose 32 cents to $3.62 in exchanging 19,618 shares, Fontana lost 14 cents to close at $6 in switching ownership of 176,450 units, Fosrich lost 10 cents to close at $4.20 trading 41,467 stocks, iCreate rose 6 cents in closing at 65 cents and exchanging 630,357 stock units. Indies Pharma gained 18 cents to settle at $3.40, with 52,244 shares crossing the market, Iron Rock Insurance advanced 23 cents to $3.75, with a transfer of 22,000 units, Jamaican Teas fell 13 cents to $3.33, exchanging 321,133 stock units. Jetcon Corporation gained 13 cents to 79 cents, with 145,898 shares changing hands, KLE Group picked up 17 cents at $1.33 after a transfer of 749 stock units, Lasco Distributors gained 5 cents to end at $3.65, in swapping 28,720 stocks. Lasco Financial lost 20 cents to close at $2.50, trading 135,748 units, Lasco Manufacturing shed 35 cents to end at $4.38, with an exchange of 33,412 shares, Mailpac Group lost 15 cents to close at $3.49, in trading 665,514 units. Main Event shed 42 cents to end at $3.03 after crossing the market with 14,500 shares and Stationery and Office Supplies ended 18 cents lower at $4.35 in the transfer of 25,000 stock units.
