Junior Market bounces again

The Junior Market index rose on Friday for the second day running by 31.11 points to close at 2,139.47 after heavily weighted Caribbean Producers and Express Catering jumped 75 cents and 40 cents, respectively.
Trading ended with 33 securities changing hands, with 11 stocks advancing, 15 declining and the prices of seven companies holding firm, resulting in an exchange of 3,640,594 units valued at $10,061,535 compared to 3,923,029 units valued at $10,812,457 on Thursday. The average PE ratio market ended at 10.2 times, 2019 earnings.

The trading day ended with an average of 110,321 units at $304,895 for each security traded in contrast to an average of 106,028 units for $292,229 on Thursday.  The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 271,954 units valued at $602,572 and previously 268,431 units valued at $623,974. In contrast, February closed with an average of 167,673 units valued at $488,038 for each security traded.

Junior Market jumps sharply – Thursday

The Junior Market index jumped 76.57 points to close at 2,108.36 on Thursday for the first time since it last rose on Tuesday last week and stemming the flow of bleeding for five consecutive days of trading.
Trading ended with 37 securities changing hands with the prices of 17 securities advancing, ten declining and 11 stocks holding firm. Market activities ended with three finishing at 52 weeks’ lows with Access Financial trading at a low of $18, Everything Fresh at 65 cents and Indies Pharma at $1.93.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 3,923,029 units valued at $10,812,457 compared to 12,311,523 units valued at $19,911,394 on Wednesday, with the average market PE ratio ending at 10.1 times 2019 earnings.
The trading day ended with an average of 106,028 units at $292,229 for each security traded in contrast to an average of 332,744 units for $538,146 on Wednesday.  The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 268,431 units valued at $623,974 and 282,671 units valued at $653,060. Junior stocks mostly rise but index falls

The Junior Market Index dropped again in trading on Wednesday by 49.39 points to close at 2,031.79 and taking the fall for the year to date to 39.3 percent, taking the market way back to July 11, 2016 levels, the second year of the last bull run.
Trading resulted in many stocks rebounding at the close of the market activities and leading to the prices of 17 securities rising, 13 declining and the prices of seven stocks closing unchanged.
Trading on the Junior Market concluded with 37 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 12,311,523 units valued at $19,911,394 compared to 38,566,809 units valued at $62,217,505 on Tuesday, with the average market PE ratio ending at 10.1 times 2019 earnings.
The trading day ended with an average of 332,743 units at $538,146 for each security traded in contrast to an average of 1,071,300 units for $1,736,994 on Tuesday.  The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 282,671 units valued at $653,060 and previously 277,858 units valued at $664,104. Junior Market carnage worsens – Tuesday

The Junior Market continued its freefall on Tuesday, dropping a record 152.05 points to close at 2,081.18, levels not seen since April 2016 as the 36 securities trading resulted in 23 stocks declining, seven rising and six stocks holding firm with the market losing 38 percent of its value since the start of the year.
At the close of trading nine stocks ended at 52 weeks’ lows and several stocks suffered steep fall in prices and were led by ISP Finance with a drop of $4.75, followed by Cargo Handlers $1.40, Jamaican Teas $1.05, Fontana $1.02 and Caribbean Producers with a large capitalization shed 78 cents.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 38,566,809 units at $62,217,505, of which Derrimon Trading accounted for 28.6 million units, compared to 20,701,190 units valued at $69,475,355 on Monday, with the average market PE ratio ending at 10.3 times 2019 earnings.

Trading soars as the market tumbles

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange had a huge uptick in volume trading on Monday, that did not help the market, as prices mostly fell, with the market index tumbling 84.68 points to close at 2,233.23, the lowest level since September 2016 as nine stocks closed at 52 weeks’ lows.
The market has lost 33 percent of its value since the start of the year and 39 percent since peaking in August 2019. More signs Junior Market is bottoming

The Junior Market Index dropped 38.62 points in trading on Tuesday following a 46.73 points drop on Wednesday to close at 2,345.53 with a decline of 30 percent for the year to date but gains in some stocks in Thursday’s session, suggest that prices may be poised to rebound.

General Accident jumped $1 and closed at $6.10, a strong signal that prices of Junior stocks seem set to rise.

At the close, prices of 12 securities rose, 12 declined and nine remained unchanged, with two stocks closing at 52 weeks’ low and five traded at intraday lows.
Trading left the average market PE ratio at 11.3 times 2019 earnings as the market closed with 33 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 4,910,632 units valued at $15,136,846 compared to 4,810,590 units valued at $18,535,804 from 35 on Wednesday.

Junior Market may be bottoming

The Junior Market Index dropped 46.73 points in trading on Wednesday to close at 2,384.15, with the prices of 14 securities rising, 19 declining and two remaining unchanged as six stocks closed at 52 weeks’ low and one traded at an intraday low.

Worse one-day Junior Market drop

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange suffered its worst decline ever, on Monday, with a fall of 137.68 points to close at 2,396.82 in the market Index as the prices of 24 declined, just seven securities advancing and six closing unchanged.
The fall in the market took the 2019 losses to 28.4 percent and the fall from the peak to whopping 35 percent.
Caribbean Assurance Brokers started trading after a heavy oversubscription in the issue of shares to the public and rose 54 cents to close at $2.45 after exchanging 204,158 shares. The market closed with six stocks trading at 52 weeks’ lows, while three traded at intraday lows during the day.

Investors slash 31% off Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange suffered another day of more than 100 points fall in the market index as declining stocks clobbered advancers for the third consecutive day and leaving the market with a 24.3 drop since the start of the year and 31 percent from the peak in August last year.
The Market Index dropped 121.90 points to close at 2,534.51, taking the market value back to December 2016 levels.
At the close of market activities, the prices of just seven securities advanced, 24 declined and five remained unchanged. The average market PE ratio ended at 12.4 times 2019 earnings.
