Gains for USD market as more stocks rise

The value stocks trading on Monday surged 232 percent on the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market, but the volume was mildly higher and trading closed with eight active securities, the same as Friday, with three rising, one declining and four ending unchanged.
The JSE US Denominated Equities Index rose 2.90 points and closed at 213.83.

Overall, 335,526 shares traded, for US$46,352 versus 320,625 units at US$13,970 on Friday. Trading averaged 41,941 units at US$5,794, compared to 40,078 shares at US$1,746 on Friday, with a month to date average of 77,373 shares at US$4,158 versus 80,326 units at US$4,021 on the previous day. May ended with an average of 47,916 units for US$3,528.

At the close, First Rock Capital USD share ended at 7.49 US cents with an exchange of 37 shares, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy remained at US$1.38 while exchanging one stock unit, Proven Investments rose 0.5 of a cent to end at 26 US cents in an exchange of 48,190 stock units. Sterling Investments dropped 0.02 of one cent to close at 2.1 US cents, with 577 units changing hands, Sygnus Credit Investments USD share advanced 0.79 of a cent in closing at 12.99 US cents in switching ownership of 260,908 units, Sygnus Real Estate Finance USD share finished at 11.5 US cents after an exchange of 850 stocks and Transjamaican Highway climbed 0.03 of one cent to close at 0.84 of a US cent with 24,962 shares traded.
In the preference segmentJMMB Group 6% remained at US$1.05 in exchanging one stock unit.

Dolla Financial jumps to $3.07

Dolla Financial led trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market on Monday, with 19 million shares for 61 percent of total volume and was the major contributor to the Market Index surging, 111.58 points to 4,314.02. Dolla helped to push the volume of stocks traded by 143 percent more and the value 118 percent more than on Friday as the price jumped 207 percent above the IPO price of $1 to close at $3.07.
All but one of the 46 listed securities traded, up from 41 on Friday, with 23 rising, 14 declining and eight unchanged. JFP Limited was the second highest traded stock, with 3.96 million units for 12.6 percent of the day’s trade and Mailpac Group with 1.0 million units for 3.2 percent of market share.

Fontana shed 74 cents to close at $10.06 while exchanging 97,588 stock units, Fosrich fell $1 to end at $30 after trading 511,763 units, Future Energy Source gained 10 cents after finishing at $6.10, with 831,157 shares crossing the exchange. iCreate increased 29 cents in closing at $3.24 after trading 979,125 stocks, Jamaican Teas rose 11 cents to $3.11 with an exchange of 126,602 shares, Jetcon Corporation gained 18 cents to close at $1.43, with 717,968 units changing hands. JFP Limited climbed 12 cents to $1.62, with 3,960,786 stock units clearing the market, Knutsford Express advanced 80 cents to end at $7.80 in trading 2,627 stock units, Lasco Distributors dropped 25 cents to $3.10, with 88,898 units crossing the market. Lasco Manufacturing fell 45 cents to close at $4.50 after an exchange of 192,961 shares, Mailpac Group declined 12 cents to $2.80 after trading 1,003,316 stocks, SSL Venture popped 29 cents ending at 52 weeks closing high of $3.99 while exchanging 472,549 shares. Stationery and Office Supplies lost 45 cents to $12, trading 226,133 stock units and tTech shed 38 cents to end at $3.12 as 1,850 units changed hands.

New ICTOP10 entrants

Dolla Financial a former ICInsidertop10 stock fresh from the recent IPO, was listed on Wednesday and was the highlight of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with the stock jumping 132 percent pushed by extremely high demand, with just modest selling, with indications the price may need to be in the $3 to $4 range to evoke greater balance between buyers and sellers.
Investors with a longer term investment target of over two years or more may find the potential growth prospects exciting and pay off well at the above prices.
The week ended with two new listings in the TOP10, but half of the Junior Market stocks recorded gained and 4 in the Main Market.
Junior Market stocks with worthwhile gains this past week are Dolphin Cove, with the price rising 14 percent to $17.61, Stationery and Office Supplies up 13 percent to $12.45, AMG Packaging up 10 percent to $3.94 and Caribbean Cream 5 percent to $4.98. Medical Disposables dropped 16 percent to $6.26.
In the TOP10 Main Market, Caribbean Cement lost 8 percent to $64.50 and Guardian Holdings fell 5 percent to $510.
Dolphin Cove and Stationery and Office Supplies dropped out of the Junior Market TOP10 and were replaced by CAC 2000, got an earnings upgrade to $1.32 after the company reported a profit of $47 million or 36 cents per share for the April quarter with the company reporting solid second quarter profit of $14 million for the six months to April from $8.7 in 2021 and Lasco Distributors.
The average PE for the JSE Main Market TOP 10 ends the week at 6.2, well below the market average of 14.1, while the Junior Market PE for the Top 10 is 5.8 versus the market at 13.2. The Junior Market TOP10 is projected to gain an average of 249 percent to May 2023 and the Main Market 243 percent.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended on Friday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 40 percent over trading on Thursday but with a 48 percent lower value as the market closed with an equal number of stocks rising and falling.
Trading ended with slightly more securities trading than on Thursday, with 55 changing hands up from 54 before and ended with 19 rising, 19 declining and 17 ending unchanged. The All Jamaican Composite Index shed 101.02 points to close at 436,271.57, the JSE Main Index slipped 324.63 points to 381,528.21 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.03 points to settle at 91.24.

Trading on Friday ended with the volume of stocks changing hands rising 61 percent over Thursday as 11 percent more funds entered the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market, resulting in eight securities traded, similar to Thursday, with two rising, three declining and three ending unchanged.

Big bounce for Junior Market on Friday

The Junior Market Index jumped 80.94 points to 4,202.44 on Friday, after Dolla Financial jumped nearly 33 percent to close at $2.32 and Fosrich surged $3.51 to $30.30, and the volume of stocks traded rising 127 percent and the value 100 percent over Thursday.
A total of 41 securities were traded versus 39 on Thursday and ended with 18 rising, 13 declining and 10 closing unchanged.

Trading drops on TTSE on Friday

Trading resumed on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, after breaking for a public holiday on Thursday and ended with the volume of stocks traded declining 82 percent and the value 73 percent lower than Wednesday,
A total of 18 securities traded down from 16 on Wednesday, with six rising, five declining and seven remaining unchanged. The Composite Index rallied 2.22 points to 1,392.09, the All T&T Index declined 3.24 points to 2,045.65 and the Cross-Listed Index rallied 1.13 points to end at 96.97.
Overall, 569,192 shares traded for $4,860,798 versus 3,156,815 units at $17,871,492 Thursday. An average of 31,622 units traded at $270,044 compared to 197,301 shares at $1,116,968 Thursday, with trading month to date averaging 70,450 units at $568,605 versus 73,762 units at $594,075 on the previous trading day. The average trade for May amounts to 45,890 units at $370,328.

Trading jumps on JSE Main Market

Trading surged on Thursday, with the volume traded rising 51 percent compared to trading on Wednesday, with a 926 percent jump in value on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market as rising stocks exceeded those declining.
The All Jamaican Composite Index dropped 1,238.52 points to 436,372.59, the JSE Main Index lost 1,477.94 points to 381,852.85 and the JSE Financial Index fell 0.18 points to 91.21. Trading ended with 54 securities up from 52 on Wednesday, with 24 rising, 20 declining and ten ending unchanged.

Trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market on Thursday, ended with the volume of stocks traded rising 69 percent, with a 63 percent drop in value than Wednesday, as eight securities were traded, up from six on Wednesday with three rising, three declining and two ending unchanged.
The JSE US Denominated Equities Index lost 3.43 points to end at 214.52.

Main Event rallied 70 cents ending at $8.20 after exchanging 550 stock units, Paramount Trading climbed 10 cents to close at $1.85 in trading 68,667 shares, SSL Venture rose 8 cents in closing at a 52 weeks’ high of $2.85 while exchanging 305,581 stocks and tTech dropped 19 cents in closing at $3.50, with 160 units crossing the market.
