The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange closed trading on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 16 percent after a modest 3 percent rise in value, compared to Monday. The market closed with an exchange of 17 securities, down from 19 on Monday and ending with prices of five rising, seven declining and five ending firm.
The market closed after trading of 73,191 shares for $1,214,829 after climbing from 62,965 stock units at $1,179,066 on Monday.
An average of 4,305 shares were exchanged at $71,461, up from 3,314 stock units at $62,056 on Monday. Trading for the month to date ended with an average of 15,005 shares at $134,222, after slipping from an average of 15,623 units at $137,851 on the previous day at an higher average than for June, with 14,083 shares at $118,753.
The Composite Index gained 0.13 points to 1,018.31, the All T&T Index fell 1.57 points to finish at 1,455.41, the SME Index remained at 81.05 and the Cross-Listed Index popped 0.28 points to end at 77.12.

At the close of trading, Agostini dipped 5 cents to end at $57.45 with investors swapping 18 units, 
Angostura Holdings fell 28 cents in closing at $10.52 following trading of 1,440 stock units, CIBC Caribbean Bank rallied 4 cents to $7.60 after trading 1,409 shares. First Citizens Group slipped by 2 cents to end at $39.74 following 14,211 shares changing hands, GraceKennedy popped 5 cents to end at $3.75 with an exchange of 7,500 shares, Guardian Holdings ended at $16.45 with a transfer of 41 stock units. JMMB Group shed 5 cents to 80 cents with investors dealing in 5,033 stocks, Massy Holdings dropped 4 cents to finish at $3.65 in an exchange of 16,181 units, National Enterprises ended at $4.75 with trading of 10,075 shares. National Flour Mills increased 8 cents to $1.60 with 1,330 stocks crossing the exchange, Point Lisas remained at $7 in switching ownership of 10 units, Republic Financial lost 50 cents in closing at $109.50 after an exchange of 2,522 stock units. 
Scotiabank ended at $45.50 with investors trading 1,879 shares, Trinidad & Tobago NGL slipped 14 cents to $10.35 with an exchange of 10,188 stocks, Trinidad Cement skidded 1 cent to $1.79 with 200 units crossing the market. Unilever Caribbean ended at $14.45 in an exchange of 904 stock units and West Indian Tobacco rose 3 cents to $4.14 with 250 shares changing hands.
