Rising stocks dominate TTSE trading – Thursday

Republic Bank closed at a 52 weeks’ high on Thursday.

Trading closed on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, rising stocks outpacing declining ones by a significant margin.
The market closed with 17 securities trading, with seven stocks gaining, two declining while eight closed unchanged, after Republic Financial Holding ended at a new 52 weeks’ high.
The T&T Composite Index inched 0.01 points higher to 1,479.14. The All T&T Index rose just 0.53 points to 1,881.13, while the Cross Listed Index declined 0.07 points to close at 145.92.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 223,638 shares, valued at $5,221,135, compared to 130,180 shares, with a value of $4,139,922, from 16 securities on Wednesday.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of five stocks higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
Gains| Clico Investments gained 11 cents and ended at $28, after exchanging 34,949 shares, Angostura Holdings gained 1 cent to close at $16.16, with 4,400 stock units changing hands, First Citizens Bank increased by 5 cents and settled at $45.15, trading 2,200 stock units. Massy Holdings climbed 40 cents and ended at $62, after exchanging 504 shares, National Flour rose 4 cents and closed at $1.40, after trading a mere eight unit. Republic Financial rose 25 cents end at a 52 weeks’ high of $135.75, after swapping of 100 shares and West Indian Tobacco added 1 cent and completed trading of 8,468 shares at $41.20.
Losses| JMMB Group fell 5 cents and ended at $2.65, with investors exchanging 22,500 shares and Trinidad & Tobago NGL closed trading of 10,184 shares but fell 61 cents to close at $23.
Firm Trades| Ansa McAl closed at $55.30, with 41,693 units crossing the exchange, Calypso Micro Index Fund traded 1,000 shares at $15.85, Grace Kennedy finished at $3.90, with investors exchanging 10,000 shares, Guardian Holdings ended at $21.50, with 1,000 units crossing the exchange. NCB Financial exchanged 84,000 shares to close at $11, Prestige Holdings settled at $8.90, with an exchange of 12 units, Scotiabank ended at $61.01, in trading 650 units and Unilever Caribbean settled at $22.25, with 1,970 stock units changing hands.
