Record high for Transjamaican Highway on the JSE USD Market


Investors engaged more money into the US Dollar Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, with trading in shares of Productive Business Solutions accounting for 80 percent of the dollar value of trading while Transjamaica Highway climbed to a new record high, following an 18 percent increase in the volume of stocks traded and a 302 percent jump in value compared to Wednesday. Similar to Wednesday, the market closed with an exchange of eight securities, with prices of three rising, one declining and four ending unchanged.

Investors exchanged 395,609 shares worth US$80,018 after climbing from 334,610 stock units at US$19,892 on Wednesday.
Trading ended with an average of 49,451 shares at US$10,002 compared to 41,826 stock units at US$2,487 on Wednesday. Trading ended with a month to date average of 41,655 units at US$6,127 up a tad from 40,382 stocks at US$5,494 on the previous day and well below June that ended with an average of 625,703 units for US$203,999.
The US Denominated Equities Index lost 6.85 points to finish at 249.30. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows one stock ended with a bid higher than the last selling price and none with a lower offer.

At the close of trading, AS Bryden popped 0.07 of a cent to 17 US cents with 696 units passing through the market, Productive Business Solutions shed 20 cents and ended at 60 US cents in trading of 106,469 stocks, Proven Investments gained 0.04 of a cent to end at 6.79 US cents with 43,387 shares crossing the market. Quantas Advantage ended at 13 US cents with investors trading 1,839 stock units, Sterling Investments remained at 2 US cents with 5 shares crossing the exchange, Sygnus Credit Investments ended at 5.89 US cents with investors dealing in 5 stocks and Transjamaican Highway rose 0.18 of a cent and ended at a record 5.4 US cents after an exchange of 243,204 units.
In the preference segment, AS Bryden 6% remained at US$1 with investors swapping 4 stock units.
