More declines for Junior Market

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended on Tuesday with 34 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 4,382,872 units amounting to $10,759,249 compared to 7,002,559 units for $26,321,318 on Monday.
At the close of market activities, the prices of 16 securities advanced, 14 declined and four remained unchanged. The Junior Market Index declined a further by 25.45 points following Monday’s 103 points fall to close at 3,250.10. At the close of the market, the average PE of the was 13.5.
Trading ended with an average of 128,908 units for an average of $316,449 in contrast to 205,958 units for an average of $774,156 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 195,651 units valued at $429,219 and previously 160,734 units valued at $468,747. In contrast, December closed with an average of 521,319 shares at $1,344,719 for each security traded.

At the close of the market, Access Financial dropped $6.99 in trading of 18,222 units to close at $29.01, AMG Packaging gained 28 cents, exchanging 5,828 shares at $2.35, Blue Power climbed 12 cents, trading 80,879 stock units at $4.90, CAC 2000 lost $1.50 with 251 shares changing hands to close at $13.50. Caribbean Cream closed trading of 15,187 units and gained 5 cents to end at $3.80, Caribbean Producers closed with a loss of 20 cents at $4.80, after swapping of 58,200 shares. Consolidated Bakeries exchanged 81,779 shares to close at $1.75 after falling 5 cents, Derrimon Trading ended with 79,606 shares, changing hands, after rising 1 cent to end at $2.59. Elite Diagnostic gained 2 cents and exchanged 145,239 shares at $4.90, Everything Fresh inched 1 cent higher and exchanged 8,000 shares at $1.07, Express Catering lost 54 cents in trading 28,615 units to close at $6.11. Fontana ended trading with 87,090 shares, after rising 1 cent to end at $7.01, Fosrich closed trading of 36,796 units and gained 25 cents to end at $4.44, General Accident fell 75 cents in trading of 53,013 units at $6.35. Honey Bun climbed 37 cents in exchanging 46,289 shares at $8.39, iCreate closed 2 cents higher at 73 cents, with 22,800 stock units changing hands, Indies Pharma rose 8 cents in trading 78,474 shares at $3.20, Iron Rock Insurance lost 10 cents in exchanging 100 shares to close at 3.90 cents. ISP Finance fell $2.99 to end at $29 with 100 stock units crossing the exchange. Jamaican Teas close with a loss of 47 cents at $6.11, in swapping of 36,919 shares, Lasco Distributors climbed 30 cents after exchanging 116,228 shares at $3.30. Lasco Financial ended trading with 23,699 shares, after rising 37 cents to end at $4.47, Lasco Manufacturing ended trading of 4,298 shares, after rising 50 cents to end at $4.50, Limners & Bards declined 5 cents in swapping 42,845 units at $2.94. Lumber Depot ended with a loss of 1 cent at $1.50, with 2,400,221 stock units changing hands, MailPac Group shed 2 cents trading 787,205 units at $2.10. Main Event declined by 10 cents to settle at $6 with 22,255 shares changing hands, Medical Disposables added 10 cents in exchanging 1,138 shares at $7.10 and SSL Venture closed 20 cents higher at $1.20, with 36,788 stock units changing hands. In the junior market preference segment, Derrimon Trading dipped 30 cents in trading of 17,610 units at $1.80.
