Trading on Friday ended with the market rising after trading 88.66 percent fewer shares traded than on Thursday on the US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, resulting in more stocks falling than rising.
Trading ended with six securities changing hands, compared to seven on Thursday, with one stock rising, two declining and three trading unchanged.
The JSE USD Equity Index rose 3.75 points to end at 209.26. The average PE Ratio based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2021-22 earnings ends at12.7.
Overall, 198,146 shares traded at US$28,556 compared to 1,746,755 units at US$158,764 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 33,024 units at US$4,759, in contrast to 249,536 shares at US$22,681 on Thursday. Trading averaged 67,531 units at US$5,091 compared to 71,365 units at US$5,128 on Thursday. March ended with an for the month to date averages 68,746 units for US$13,137.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows one stock ending with the bid higher than the last selling prices and none with lower offers.
At the close, First Rock Capital traded 1,039 shares at 8.9 US cents, Margaritaville closed at 9 US cents after trading 100 stock units, Proven Investments declined 0.25 of a cent in ending at 25.25 US cents, with 51,970 shares crossing the exchange. Sterling Investments advanced by 0.1 of a cent to 2.15 US cents with 14,731 units trading and Transjamaican Highway fell 0.02 of a cent to 0.9 of a cent, with 123,506 shares crossing the market.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group 5.75% closed at US$2.05 in trading 6,800 shares.
