Trading remained low-keyed on the Jamaican Stock Exchange’s US dollar market on Tuesday with just two securities trading and closed with the price of one stock rising and one remaining unchanged.
At the close of the market, the JSE USD Equities Index lost 0.06 points to settle at 193.29. The average PE Ratio ended at 13.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with 48,132 shares trading at US$8,939 compared to just 12,620 units at US$1,667 on Monday. The average trade for the day amounts to 24,066 units at US$4,469 in contrast to 6,310 shares at US$834 n Monday. Trading ended with an average of 41,597 units for the month to date at US$5,422, versus 42,298 units at US$5,461. October, by contrast, ended with an average of 697,808 units for US$17,320.
At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading shows three stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer. Proven Investments remained at 25.95 US cents at the close of the market after exchanging 17,317 stock units and Sygnus Credit Investments gained half of a cent to end at 15 US cents trading 30,815 shares.
