Junior Market slides on lower volume

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Monday with 30 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 2,753,477 units valued at $12,406,027 compared to 6,535,788 units valued at $30,540,149 on Friday.
At the close of market activities, the prices of 11 securities advanced, 16 declined and 3 remained unchanged with the Junior Market Index declining 25.29 points to close at 3,520.91.
Trading ended with an average of 91,783 units for an average of $413,534 in contrast to 242,066 units for an average of $1,131,117 on Friday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 2,613,989 units valued at $5,527,574 and previously 3,139,449 units valued at $6,592,999 for each security traded. In contrast, August ended with an average of 232,398 units valued at $1,072,851 for each traded security.

Stocks closing with price changes| AMG Packaging ended market activity exchanging 315,138 shares to close at $2.25 after falling 5 cents, Blue Power gained $1.49 to end at $8.49, trading 4,982 shares, Cargo Handlers declined 25 cents in trading of 1,151 units at $9, Caribbean Cream dropped $1.15 to settle at $4.35 with 16,000 shares changing hands. Consolidated Bakeries ended market activity exchanging 1,370 shares to close at $1.71 after falling 28 cents, Derrimon Trading exchanged 374,613 units and gained 20 cents to end at $2.70, Express Catering ended with 14,100 shares changing hands to close at $6.90 after falling 10 cents. Everything Fresh gained 1 cent to end at $1.37, after trading 91,679 shares, Elite Diagnostic exchanged 155,002 shares to close at $6.20 after falling 30 cents, Fosrich closed 42 cents higher at $5.27, with 29,150 stock units trading, Fontana ended market activity exchanging 311,985 shares to close at $8 after falling 53 cents. General Accident closed trading of 112,000 units and gained 84 cents to end at $6.39, Gwest Corporation closed trading of 5,271 units and gained 9 cents to end at $1.30, Honey Bun declined 50 cents to settle at $6.50 while 70,100 shares, were exchanged, iCreate declined 8 cents to 75 cents trading of 90,942 units. Indies Pharma closed trading of 142,496 units after gaining 26 cents to end at $3.60, Iron Rock Insurance closed with a loss of 70 cents at $3.40, after swapping 7,200 shares, Jamaican Teas climbed 20 cents and exchanged 102,303 shares at $6.30. Key Insurance climbed 25 cents and traded 100 shares at $3.25, KLE Group closed 5 cents higher at $2, with 4,781 stock units changing hands. Lasco Distributors declined by 15 cents to settle at $3.35 as investors exchanged 27,321 shares, Lasco Financial dropped 78 cents in trading of 118,051 units to close at $4.72, Lasco Manufacturing declined 10 cents in trading of 201,445 units to finish at $5.60. Main Event shed 10 cents in trading of 3,400 units at $7, Medical Disposables closed with a loss of $2.50 at $5.60 after swapping of 20,000 shares, Stationery and Office Supplies lost 16 cents trading of 8,121 units to end at $12.83 and tTech ended market activity exchanging 42,000 shares to close at $6 after falling 55 cents.
