Junior Market record index gain – Thursday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange index rose on Thursday, as 3,232,801 units valued at $12,857,715 traded, down sharply from 9,482,082 units valued at $38,586,264 changing hands on Wednesday.
At the close of trading, 27 securities changed hands, compared with 28 on Wednesday. The market index rose 17.53 points to close at 3,092.85 as the prices of 11 securities rose, 11 declined and 5 remained unchanged.
Trading ended with an average of 119,733 units at $476,212 for each security traded, in contrast to 338,646 units for an average of $1,378,081 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 222,952 shares valued at $789,131 compared to 194,902 shares valued at $813,620 on the previous day. In contrast, February closed with an average of 235,225 units valued at $679,790 for each security traded.

At the close of the market, AMG Packaging ended trading 51,876 stock units to close at $2.10, Blue Power concluded trading 50,891 units for 1 cent higher at $4.86, Cargo Handlers settled at $12.50, with 10,000 shares changing hands, Caribbean Cream ended trading 21,150 shares and lost 2 cents to close at $5.50. Caribbean Producers finished trading with a loss of 17 cents at $4.13, with an exchange of 64,600 units. Derrimon Trading ended with a loss of 16 cents at $2.65, with 60,629 shares trading, Dolphin Cove dropped $1.48 trading of 325 shares at $12.51, Everything Fresh finished with a loss of 24 cents at $1.55, as 31,612 stock units changed hands, Elite Diagnostic settled at $3.20, with the trading of 2,000 units. Express Catering ended trading 8,140 shares with a loss of 20 cents, in closing at $7.60, FosRich Group traded 20 cents higher at $4.50, with 454 shares passing through the market, Fontana finished trading with 90,464 shares and rose 1 cent to $4.01, General Accident closed with a loss of 1 cent at $4.50, with 198,105 stock units changing hands. Honey Bun rose 13 cents to $3.83, with trading in 166,143 shares, iCreate closed market activity at $1.02, with an exchange of 20,000 shares, Indies Pharma finished 1 cent higher at $3.05, with 6,000 shares changing hands, Iron Rock added 10 cents in closing at $3.10, trading 151,920 shares. KLE Group ended with a loss of 15 cents at $2.65, with an exchange of 13,328 shares. Knutsford Express concluded trading of 2,000 stock units, with a loss of 48 cents at $12.02, Lasco Distributors rose 1 cent to $3.76, with 40,655 units changing hands, Lasco Financial gained 18 cents to close at $4.65, with an exchange of 1,358,721 shares, Lasco Manufacturing ended trading 837,591 shares for 35 cents higher to close at $3.50. Main Event traded 11,910 shares and rose 19 cents to end at $5.50, Medical Disposables finished trading $1.40 higher at $8, with 500 stock units, Stationery and Office concluded trading at $7.50, with 3,000 shares and tTech settled with a loss of 12 cents at $5.40, with an exchange of 5,807 stock units. In the junior market preference segment, Derrimon Trading ended with a loss of 5 cents at $1.95, with 24,980 stock units changing hands.
