The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange started the week with a 35.36 points jump in the market index to end at 3,024.32 at the end of moderate trading of 10,465,109 shares, up 41 percent over trading on Friday, with 7,425,371 units, with as the value traded climbing 12 percent to $15,711,667 from at $14,049,511 on Friday. The market closed after an exchange of 39 securities, down from 42 on Friday and ending with prices of 18 rising, 15 declining and six closing unchanged.
Trading averaged 268,336 shares at $402,863, after jumping from 176,795 stock units at $334,512 on Friday. Trading for the month to date, averages 242,093 units at $369,583 well in line with 240,158 stocks that traded at an eaverage of $367,129, previously and well below June, with an average of 1,591,326 shares at $1,703,148.
Lasco Financial led trading with 3.0 million shares for 28.7 percent of the total volume traded followed by Woodcats International with 1.49 million stock units for 14.2 percent of the day’s trade and Omni Industries with 1.06 million units for 10.1 percent of the day’s trade.
At the close of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows 10 stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 12.2. ICInsider.com compiles the PE ratios, which are derived by dividing the last traded price of a stock by the earnings per share for companies with their fiscal year ending around August 2026.
At the close of trading, Blue Power skidded 15 cents to $3 with 16,373 stocks crossing the market, Cargo Handlers advanced by 40 cents to $18.25 with investors trading 1,044 shares, Caribbean Cream lost 9 cents and ended at $1.80 with 176,203 units clearing the market. Caribbean Flavours dropped by 17 cents to close at $1.01 with investors swapping 19,210 stocks, Dolla Financial fell 15 cents to close at $2.86 with a transfer of 850,532 stock units, Dolphin Cove slipped 39 cents to end at $14.10 after investors exchanged 5,235 shares. Elite Diagnostic rose 30 cents to close at $1.37 in switching ownership of 3,114 stock units, Express Catering shed 38 cents to $2.18 with 13,721 stocks crossing the market, Future Energy gained 7 cents to end at $3.57 in an exchange of 152,677 shares. Honey Bun declined 37 cents to finish at $5.55 after the trading of 150,617 stock units, Image Plus rallied by 10 cents to a 52 weeks high of $1.35 with investors swapping 450,587 shares,
Jetcon Corporation rallied 5 cents to close at $3.35 with a transfer of 15,732 units. Lasco Financial increased 19 cents to $2.10 with an exchange of 3,003,346 stocks, Limners and Bards dipped 8 cents to end at $1.02 with 28,243 units passing through the market, Lumber Depot climbed 8 cents in closing at $2.68 with 148,839 shares crossing the exchange Main Event lost 30 cents to close at $4.70 in trading 105,561 stock units and Omni Industries declined by 7 cents and ended at 97 cents, with investors dealing in 1,055,012 shares.Closing prices of stocks are those of the last transaction.
