Junior Market index inched higher – Wednesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange made modest gains at the close of trading on Wednesday as the Junior Market Index rose 8.54 points to close at 3,128.39.
Trading ended with 23 securities changing hands, compared with 26 on Tuesday, leading to the prices of 8 securities rising, 10 declining and 5 remaining unchanged.
Market activity, resulted in an exchange of 1,524,611 units valued at $4,663,116, compared to 4,616,653 units valued at $17,157,641, trading on Tuesday.
Trading ended with an average of 66,287 units for an average of $202,744 in contrast to 177,564 units for an average of $659,909 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 2,345,317 units valued at $7,695,606 and previously 2,454,521 units valued at $7,723,173, In contrast, December ended with an average of 136,222 units at a value of $737,367 for each security traded.

At the close of the day’s activities, Access Financial closed at $48, exchanging 155 shares, AMG Packaging ended with a loss of 10 cents at $2.40, with 134,600 stock units changing hands, Blue Power concluded trading of 2,492 units, at $5, Caribbean Cream ended trading with 1,920 shares and losing of 50 cents to close at $5.30. Caribbean Flavours swapped 4,500 stock units with a loss of 1 cent to close at $18, Caribbean Producers finished trading 5,289 units, with a loss of 25 cents to end at $5, Consolidated Bakeries lost 15 cents to close at $1.90, trading 800 shares, Derrimon Trading ended 19 cents higher at $2.79, with an exchange of 121,138 shares. Elite Diagnostic finished exchanging 350 stock units at $3, Everything Fresh traded 99,303 shares to close at $1.80, Express Catering settled 10 cents higher at $7.50, in trading 22,325 units, Fontana rose 9 cents to close at $3.49 with 368,797 shares changing hands. FosRich Group ended trading of 10,461 shares, at $3.76, GWest Corporation finished trading 845 shares with a loss of 4 cents at $1.72, Honey Bun closed 15 cents higher at $3.90, with 33,133 stock units changing hands, Indies Pharma rose 5 cents in ending at $3, with 42,773 units changing hands. Jetcon Corporation  settled 20 cents higher at $3.30, with an exchange of 5,323 shares, Knutsford Express  finished trading 2,900 shares, and rose 70 cents higher to $12.70,  Lasco Distributors  closed with a loss of 8 cents at $3.65, with an exchange of 38,172 shares. Lasco Financial  ended with a loss of 10 cents at $4.50, while trading 232,583 shares, Lasco Manufacturing  concluded trading of 29,461 stock units 1 cent higher at $3.40,  SSL Venture Capital lost 25 cents in exchanging 367,161 shares to close at $1.70 and tTech finished trading with a loss of 1 cent at $4.99, with 130 stock units changing hands.
