Junior Market inched higher – Wednesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed trading on Wednesday with the Market Index rising 8.89 points to close at 3,166.43 as the prices of 10 securities rising, 9 falling and 9 remaining unchanged.
The market closed with 28 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of just 522,801 units valued at a mere $2,363,665 compared to 1,541,445 units valued at $5,341,261 on Tuesday from trading in 22 stocks.
Trading ended with an average of 18,671 units for an average of $84,417 in contrast to 70,066 units for an average of $242,785 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 177,258 units at a value of $982,896, versus 193,704 units at a value of $1,076,071, previously. November, ended with an average of 190,475 units valued at $653,358 for each security traded.

At the close of the day’s activity, Access Financial closed $1.45 higher at $48.95, trading 955 shares, AMG Packaging ended with a loss of 2 cents at $1.68, with an exchange of 5,955 stock units, Blue Power concluded trading of 1,500 units at $6.20, Cargo Handlers settled at $15,with 492 shares changing hands, Caribbean Cream ended trading 200 shares at $6. Caribbean Producers finished trading 3,590 units with a loss of 24 cents to end at $5.06, Consolidated Bakeries closed at $1.90, with 2,500 shares trading, Derrimon Trading ended with a loss of 35 cents at $2.20, with an exchange of 19,825 shares, Elite Diagnostic finished with a loss of 2 cents at $2.87, with 34,019 stock units exchanged. Eppley settled at $9, trading 2,110 units, Everything Fresh rose 8 cents and ended trading 31,057 shares to close at $1.38, Express Catering ended trading of 39,600 shares and lost 14 cents in ending at $7.86, FosRich Group traded 8,500 shares and closed 1 cent higher at $3.95, General Accident finished trading 600 shares and rose 5 cents to $3.45. GWest Corporation closed 30 cents higher at $1.60, with 1,000 stock units being exchanged, Honey Bun ended at $3.50, with trading of 1,449 units, Indies Pharma traded 27,257 shares to close at $3.20, Iron Rock concluded trading of 800 shares and closed 60 cents higher at $5,  Jetcon Corporation  ended trading 14 cents higher at $3.15, with an exchange of 20,631 stock units. Knutsford Express  closed 45 cents higher at $11.95, with the swapping of 16,181 shares, Lasco Distributors  ended 10 cents higher at $3.90, after 81,989 shares traded, Lasco Manufacturing  finished with a loss of 30 cents at $3.20, in exchanging 34,000 units, Main Event  settled 45 cents higher at $6.35, trading 640 shares. Medical Disposables  ended trading of 5,243 shares, with a loss of 30 cents at $6.50, SSL Venture Capital traded 62,840 shares and lost 10 cents to end at $1.90 and Stationery and Office finished trading 4,268 stock units at $8.10,  In the Junior Market preference segment, Derrimon Trading ended at $2.10, with an exchange of 600 stock units and Eppley 8.25% finished trading 115,000 shares, with a loss of 5 cents at $6.30.
