JSE trading value falls sharply – Monday

Trading on Monday were slightly higher than on Friday but with a much lower value as 5,325,114 units valued at $49,013,253 were exchanged, compared with 5,136,325 units valued at $124,111,209, on the main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
The main market closed with 28 securities changing hands, of which 8 rose, 10 declined and 10 traded firm leading to the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index plunging 6,685.29 points to 319,402.41. The JSE Index dived 6,091.06 points to end at 291,011.70.
In market activity, Barita Investments closed at $9, with 8,367 shares, Berger Paints ended with a loss of 39 cents at $17.56, with 28,000 stock units, Cable & Wireless concluded trading at $1.25, with 163,107 units, Carreras finished with a loss of 35 cents at $10.35, with 122,941 shares, Caribbean Cement settled at $37.90, with 24,912 shares. Ciboney Group ended trading with a loss of 2 cents at $0.10, with 2,879,740 shares, Grace Kennedy traded at $48, with 35,805 stock units, Jamaica Broilers finished trading $20.50 higher at $20.50, with 703,300 units, Jamaica Producers closed 9 cents higher at $15.39, with 323 shares. Jamaica Stock Exchange ended $6.97 higher at $6.97, with 30,000 shares, JMMB Group concluded trading at $26, with 709 shares, Kingston Wharves settled with a loss of 50 cents at $38.50, with 34,230 units, Mayberry Investments ended trading 42 cents higher at $6.42, with 1,503 shares. NCB Financial Group traded 50 cents higher at $98, with 62,855 shares, 1834 Investments finished trading with a loss of 1 cent at $1.19, with 30,511 shares, Palace Amusement closed $1 higher at $751, with 300 stock units, PanJam Investment ended at $43, with 153,960 units. Pulse Investments finished with a loss of 10 cents at $1.60, with 26,000 shares, Radio Jamaica settled 4 cents higher at $1.09, with 19,218 shares, Sagicor Group ended trading with a loss of 9 cents at $37.51, with 201,015 stock units and Sagicor Real Estate Fund ended trading 2 cents higher at $15.30, with 15,288 shares, Scotia Group finished trading at $52, with 60,662 shares. Seprod closed 50 cents higher at $35.50, with 17,550 shares, Supreme Ventures concluded trading 39 cents higher at $11.89, with 10,537 stock units, Victoria Mutual Investments finished with a loss of 33 cents at $4.05, with 223,469 units, Wisynco Group settled with a loss of 20 cents at $10, with 226,152 shares In the main market preference segment, Jamaica Money Market 7.5% traded at $1.99, with 224,660 stock units and Proven Investments 8.25% traded at $5.15, with 20,000 shares changing hands.
