Heavy trading in JSE USD Market


Active trading on the US Dollar Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with Transjamaican Highway trading 1.5 million units and pushing the volume of stocks traded soaring 145 percent with a 120 percent rise in value relative to Monday. At the close, nine securities were exchanged, as similar to trading on Monday, with the price of one rising, five declining and three ending unchanged.

The market closed with an exchange of 2,316,305 shares for US$133,841, increasing from an elevated 944,969 stock units at US$60,746 on Monday.
Trading ended with an average of 257,367 shares at US$14,871, after jumping from 104,997 stock units at US$6,750 on Monday, with a month to date average of 167,481 units at US$72,902 after rising from 160,795 stock units at US$77,219 on the previous day, but well below June that ended with an average of 625,703 units for US$203,999.
The US Denominated Equities Index slipped 11.00 points to end at 272.13. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows six stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and none with a lower offer.

At the close of trading, First Rock Real Estate USD share dipped 0.73 of one cent to finish at 2.03 US cents with 2,622 stocks clearing the market, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy remained at 20 US cents with a transfer of 1,100 units, Productive Business Solutions ended at $0.85 with investors swapping 104 shares. Proven Investments lost 1.2 cents to close at a 52 weeks low of 5.4 US cents with 768,755 stock units crossing the exchange, Sterling Investments ended at 2 US cents after a transfer of a mere one share, Sygnus Credit Investments declined 0.2 of a cent to end at 5.3 US cents with 12,869 stocks crossing the market. Sygnus Real Estate Finance USD share shed 0.79 of a cent in closing at 4.46 US cents, after trading of 200 units and Transjamaican Highway dropped 0.14 of a cent to 6 US cents with 1,530,641 stock units changing hands.
In the preference segment, Sygnus Credit Investments 8% ended at US$11.10 with investors trading 13 shares.
