Eight stocks rise, 8 decline on T&T Exchange


Winning and losing stocks shared the honours on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, with trading in 22 securities up from 18 on Tuesday and ending with prices of eight stocks rising, eight declining and six ending firm. The volume of stocks exchanged rose by 112 percent valued 66 percent more than on Tuesday.

Trading ended with 157,112 shares being transferred for $1,938,303, up from 74,227 stock units at $1,167,434 on Tuesday.
An average of 7,141 shares were changed hands with a value of $88,105, after an increase from 4,124 units at $64,857 on  Tuesday.
Month to date, trading ends with an average of 16,901 shares worth $120,539 after sliding from 18,566 units for $126,074 on the previous day and an average for May of 18,019 shares for $397,491.
The Composite Index skidded 2.17 points to end at 984.56, the All T&T Index fell 3.74 points to 1,432.34, the SME Index gained 0.30 points to conclude trading at 88.54 and the Cross-Listed Index shed 0.07 points to close at 70.70.

At the close of trading, Agostini dipped 30 cents to end at $59.15 following a transfer of 511 shares, Angostura Holdings declined by 30 cents after closing at $10.50 following trading of 1,825 stocks, Ansa McAl advanced $3.08 to $50 with investors dealing in 5 shares. Ansa Merchant Bank remained at $28.50 with 400 stock units crossing the market, AS Bryden slipped by 15 cents to $1.55 with an exchange of 213 units, CIBC Caribbean Bank ended at $7.75 with 5,146 shares passing through the market. Endeavour Holdings dipped 15 cents and settled at $18 with the swapping of one unit, Eric Solis Marketing popped 40 cents to $4.20 with 100 stocks clearing the market, First Citizens Group rallied 21 cents to $37.96 in switching ownership of 17,342 stock units. GraceKennedy lost 15 cents to finish at $3.35 with investors trading 2,704 shares, Guardian Holdings remained at $15.82 with 7,983 stocks crossing the market, JMMB Group rose 1 cent to 77 cents, following trading of 3,218 units. L.J. Williams B share ended at 90 cents after a transfer of only one stock, Massy Holdings gained 3 cents to close at $3.43 as investors exchanged 3,500 shares, National Enterprises shed 10 cents and slipped to $5.20 with 79,689 stock units changing hands. National Flour Mills remained at $1.50 in an exchange of a mere two units, NCB Financial ended at $2.55 with investors trading 506 stocks, Republic Financial increased 20 cents to finish at $107.99 after an exchange of 2,366 units. Scotiabank fell 5 cents to $45.45 in trading 2,684 shares, Trinidad & Tobago NGL declined 55 cents to close at $10.45 after an exchange of 10,866 stock units, Unilever Caribbean climbed 6 cents to finish at $14.06 with a transfer of 6,068 stocks and West Indian Tobacco popped 16 cents in closing at $2.81 with 11,982 units crossing the exchange.
