Decline for JSE USD Market

The Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market closed on Friday, with a 40 percent in the volume of stocks traded but with a 94 percent greater value than on Thursday, resulting in an exchange of eight securities, the same number on Thursday with prices of three rising, two declining and three ending unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 156,160 shares for US$14,973 compared to 261,025 units at US$7,711 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 19,520 shares at US$1,872 compared to 32,628 stocks at US$964 on Thursday, with a month to date average of 150,683 units at US$4,648 compared with 159,501 shares at US$4,835 on the previous day and August that ended with an average of 297,880 stocks for US$8,245.
The US Denominated Equities Index slipped 6.05 points to finish at 226.91.
The PE Ratio, one of the best known measures used to determine appropriate stock values, averages eight. The PE ratio is calculated based on last traded prices divided by projected earnings, computed by ICInsider.com for companies with financial year ending around August 2025.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows three stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and none with a lower offer.
At the close, AS Bryden skidded 2.51 cents to end at 22.49 US cents in an exchange of 4,000 shares, First Rock Real Estate USD share gained 0.61 of one cent to land at 4 US cents, with traders dealing in 750 stocks, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy popped 16.99 cents to close at 70.99 US cents in an exchange of 10 shares. Proven Investments ended at 10 US cents with investors dealing in 5,723 stock units, Sterling Investments climbed 0.23 of one cent and ended at 1.64 US cents with 55,166 shares crossing the market, Sygnus Credit Investments slipped 0.01 of one cent to finish at 7.19 US cents with an exchange of 6,407 stock units and Transjamaican Highway ended at 2.2 US cents after 83,074 stocks passed through the market.
In the preference segment, Sygnus Credit Investments US 8% remained at US$10 after an exchange of 1,030 units.
