Jamaican stocks recovered some of the losses of the past two trading days with all three main market indices rising over 1,270 points when the market closed on Tuesday with the advance declining ratio be positive close two to one. The volume of stocks trading more than doubled, the volume traded on Monday, as the volume in Cable & Wireless climbed 230 percent to 2.1 million.
At the close of the market to 3,862,389 units valued at $14,970,110, compared to the 1,421,290 units valued at $14,318,294 changing hands on Monday. The junior market accounted for 531,125 units valued at $2,288,358 of the total traded on Tuesday.

The volume of stocks trading dropped sharply on Friday, with 3,924,169 units valued at $39,797,286, compared to the 6,839,351 units valued at just $23,033,975 changing hands on Thursday. Cable & Wireless dominated trading volume on Thursday with 3.9 million units but traded less than 400,000 shares on Friday.

Jamaican stocks again saw more prices rising than falling but the market indices incurred losses nevertheless at the end of trading on Wednesday. Unlike the previous two days with extremely low volumes trading levels climbed sharply by the close of the market with 5,711,945 units valued at $60,243,332, well up from the 2,652,003 units valued at $16,996,985 changing hands on Tuesday’s with, the junior market accounting for 1,483,909 units valued at $6,870,963.

Scotia Group jumped $1.39 to close at $31.39 with 3,555,100 shares changing hands, Seprod dropped $1.50 in trading 23,200 units to close at $19.50, Supreme Ventures lost 17 cents with 21,636 units changing hands at $4.81 and JMMB Group 7.5% preference share traded 24,333 units to close at $2.10.
