Buoyant flows keep Jamaican$ stable

The Jamaican dollar gained a cent against the US dollar, gained value versus the Canadian dollar but slipped against the Pound Sterling, in Tuesday’s forex trading. Authorized dealers purchased the equivalent of US$38,385,284 versus US$55,527,854 on Monday, and the equivalent of US$39,434,800 was sold compared with US$54,984,714 on Monday.
In US dollar trading, dealers bought US$32,424,472 compared to US$49,027,325 on Monday. The buying rate for the US dollar gained 3 cents to $112.38 and US$34,668,805 was sold versus US$50,573,332 on Monday, the selling rate drifted a cent down to $112.68. The Canadian dollar buying rate is up 5 cents to $101.53 with dealers buying C$2,908,960 and selling C$2,940,061 at an average selling rate that slipped 70 cents to $102.16. The rate for buying the British Pound rose $1.07 to $182.51, for the purchase of £1,935,491, while £1,182,187 was sold, the selling rate climbed 63 cents to $183.96. Other currencies bought, amounted to the equivalent of US$189,326, while selling was for the equivalent of US$170,362.
Highs & Lows| The highest buying rate for the US dollar, fell 67 cents to $114. The lowest buying and the highest selling rates remained unchanged at $91.85 and $117.70 respectively and the lowest selling rate rose $18.15 to $110. The highest buying rate for the Canadian dollar lost 70 cents to $102.20, the lowest buying rate remained at $81.17. The highest selling rate fell 20 cents to $104.96. The lowest selling rate was unchanged at $97.80. The highest buying rate for the British Pound, rose 60 cents to $184.50, the lowest buying rate was unchanged at $146.29. The highest selling rate fell 19 cents to $188.40 and the lowest selling rate is up $17.64 to $176.25.
